3 New LifeGroup! We formed a new LifeGroup at CUMC! This group will serve individuals and young couples from college-age to late-20 s. The group meets at 10 AM Sundays in room E103 in the Wesley Center. All are welcome to attend as we look to grow our faith together and discuss issues facing young adults today. Study at Women s Prison As a volunteer for the Chaplain s office, I sometimes teach classes in the Principle and Applications for Life unit, the spiritual unit, at the women s prison in Newport I am teaching the Lenten Study, 24 Hours that Changed the World, by Adam Hamilton, at the women s prison. If any of you have copies of the book, DVD or Leader s Guide that you are willing to contribute, please leave them in the office, or give to Eula Adams. 4 UMW The United Methodist Women is an organization focused on local, national and international missions. Founded by 8 women in 1869, UMW has grown to over 800,000 members today. CUMC has three active Circles Alice Murrell Circle, Circle of Faith, and WOW Circle with approximately 95 members. UMW s Local mission work includes providing for underprivileged school children, domestic abuse centers, food pantries, incarcerated persons, stillborn layettes and parent bereavement rooms, cancer units, and the pregnancy center.
