5 Mental Health First Aid Training and Retreat Wednesday 20 June to Thursday 21 June 2018 Carers Queensland and Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre (CRCC) are offering carers of people with mental illness the opportunity to attend the two-day Mental Health First Aid training course, which includes an overnight retreat at Mantra Twin Towns at Coolangatta. FSG Australia Mental Health Service will facilitate the training. Learn first aid skills helpful to adults experiencing a mental health problem. Learn how to recognise signs and symptoms of mental health problems and gain knowledge of possible causes or risk factors. Become aware of various medical, psychological and alternate treatments available and learn how to take appropriate action in a crisis. Carers will also enjoy an overnight stay at Mantra Twin Towns at Coolangatta. This retreat is FREE to carers. There are 16 places available. PLEASE NOTE: To be eligible for this training/retreat carers must be caring for someone with a mental illness and be registered with Carers Queensland and CRCC. Preference is given to those who have not been on a CRCC funded Retreat in 2017 or You can register with both organisations when you apply for this retreat.
