We need you! We are over 150 members strong but typically only are actively participating. We are all very busy in our lives with jobs, or trying to find a job, and family. The Knights should never come before your family or job but if we can get everyone to help with just one event per year it would make it a lot easier on those members. We each joined for our own personal reasons. Please remember why you joined and consider coming back if you have become inactive. We have a business meeting next week and we have some very important decisions to make. We would really like to have more voices when we make the decisions so we can be certain it is in the best interest of the council as a whole. So please try to make our next meeting. One final message. We don t know what we don t know. That s right. If we don t know about a loved one who needs a prayer, a change in your own health, or simply that no one has come by to see you even though we do know you re ill then we cannot correct our error. Please let us know if you need something. We are not trying to ignore anyone. We are human and we get busy and forget. So please forgive us for our shortcomings and don t hesitate to call or your requests. I truly hope to see many of you at our next meeting. This year, those who have s will be receiving their dues notice by . What comes back for faulty will go by regular mail Those who don t have will receive their notice by regular mail, pony express. We are doing it this way this year to try and save the cost of the mailing which could go to better use within the Council. When you receive your dues notice, don t delete it, open it up and update your information. Many of the phone no s and s are incorrect, or not listed, please add them to the questionnaire and mail them back ASAP. I have gotten a request from Supreme to update all member information that is posted on their website, some of their mailings come back because information is wrong. Please help with this matter. YIC, Marty K, Fin Sec District Deputy Another successful month for District 13 has come again. Gentleman, give yourselves a pat on the back for another great month. As a district we are nearing 70% of our membership goal already. and have already held 5 degrees with a 6th one to be held at Moncks Corner on the 2nd Monday of October. I would like to congratulate our newest 2nd and 3rd Degree members who went through their degrees on September 25th. Congrats to, from 6726 Jeff Christie and Alex Dodge, from 6900 Alec Alvera, James Coker, and Christopher Mason, from Franz Geppert, and from David Pappas, Michale Chiaromonte, Francisco DeAsys, and Reynoldo Ignacio. I also would like to welcome and congratulate all of our newest members from the Citadel as 7 new cadets joined on the 23rd. Again guys keep up the great work, the soccer shootout isnt far from starting and Operation Hope will be concluding. 4 Membership Recruitment Gentleman we are planning on a membership blitz in October. We will need the help of all our knights in recruiting. Do yourself a favor and recruit a new member from your family, friend and neighbors. Most Catholic men that are not knights are only that way, because no one has asked them to be one. One way to encourage others to be knights is by being recognized as a knight, this is easy, all you need to do is wear you council badge when you are attending church or participating in a activity at the church. We have a goal of 11 new members for the fraternal year, we currently have 3 new members. The ultimate success of our council depends on your participation in activities such as the membership drive, but include participation in other activities. The tentative date for the blitz is October 23 and 24th. Please set aside this date and help at the mass that you attend this weekend. Sign up sheets will be available at the next business meeting, social, and service Sunday. Check the council calendar on line, review your newsletter or ask a fellow knight what is happening and then volunteer to help in the areas that you can. We are usually not asking for many hours of your time. One or two hours at events would be a great help. Remember your families may assist in our activities also. Congratulations to Ray Ignacio, Frank DeAsis, David Pappis, III and Michael Chiaromonte on taking their 3rd degree on September 25, 2010 and also to the sponsors and members of the council who attend to support the candidates. There were 49 candidates for the 3rd degree. Yours in Christ, John Flinn Highway Cleanup 30 Oct 0730 or 7:30 AM Ghost and Goblin's Day Sign-in will be in the parking lot in front of the church. Dress accord to the weather it will probably be fairly cool by the end of October. Long pants are recommended due to the types of weeds that maybe encountered. Breakfast is going to be provide. Please keep in mind that the Pulling up of the Carpet in the Social Hall will start right after highway clean up. All of you that can stay for this event will be surely needed in this very large under taking. If you can help with either project come on over ready to get dirty.
