2 STANFORD HOME FOR CHILDREN presents Vintage 2012, its 7th annual wine auction. Join us for another great vintage to positively impact nearly 2,000 young people and family members who utilize its programs and services annually. More than a wine auction, Vintage 2012 transforms the traditional charity event into a night of surprises, featuring themed rooms with coordinated silent and live auctions, music and entertainment along with premium food, vodka and wine tasting. The transformation continues as Stanford Home for Children becomes Stanford Youth Solutions in March of Ever-evolving over 111 years, the new name more clearly reflects its mission to inspire sustainable change for young people and their families and empower them to solve serious challenges together. 3 2012 HONOREES Community Honoree Chevo Ramirez, Regional Vice President, Wells Fargo Foundation Chevo Ramirez manages and directs charitable contributions for the Northern California Region, working closely with community organizations to determine local needs and opportunities for grant making. Ramirez joined Wells Fargo in 1980 as a Branch Manager in Sacramento. He became a Vice President in From 2000 to 2003 he was Community President of Wells Fargo s Sacramento Main location. In 2003 he was named Foundation Manager for the Northern California Region. Ramirez currently serves on the boards of the YMCA, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce s Senior Executive Council Advisory Board and the Salvation Army Del Oro Division Advisory Board. Foster Family Honorees Amelia Kelly & Vincent Semper It takes special people to create a loving, stable home for young people that have intensive needs. Combining laughter and warmth with discipline and structure young people thrive in Amelia and Vincent s home. Having worked with Stanford Home s Foster Care program for nearly 4 years, they have provided respite for our most intensive children, taken guardianship of one young person, helped two siblings to reunify with their biological family, and are now working with another young person bringing this 10- year olds skill level up from a 1st grader to her current grade level. Amelia and Vincent blend their biological extended family with their foster family, providing an even larger sense of support and love for the young people in their home. Acceptance and nurturing are keys to their success, but understanding the varied needs of traumatized children seems to be their specialty. Always advocating for the best outcomes for their foster children, whether it is providing a safe landing for those who will reunify with their biological family or committing to long term or permanent care for others, they put the needs of the children in their care first. It is not easy to open your heart and home to those in difficult circumstances, but Amelia and Vincent wouldn t have it any other way.
