1 Lake Erie Chapter #3738 Ausgust 2015 Vol 6 Issue 7 Sponsored By: Lake Erie Harley Davidson Chester Avon Ohio Director s Chair Mike Cotrufo Inside this issue: Director s Chair 1 Hogwash Director s Chair Hi everyone Well, I m sad to report that one of our more prominent HOG Chapter members has passed away. Mike Flory Motorcycle Mike died on July 30, 2015, at the VA Hospital. He was a very passionate member of our HOG Chapter and, when he was able, would participate in virtually every event for the Chapter and dealership. Mike will be sorely missed. God Speed, Brother The summer days and weeks are slipping by, with cooler temps at night. Personally, I enjoy those nights when a nice ride after work can calm you down from a busy day. That said, I STILL DO NOT LIKE WINTER! Keep that cold crap away! The good news is, we have a ton of riding left and I don t plan on missing any days! As I read the different s and Facebook pages, our HOG members are having fun, whether it be in Sturgis, the Tail of the Dragon, HOG events and State HOG Rally s, everyone is out there riding! Be safe! Ringo Says 2 Treasurer 3 Activities/Volunteers 3 Membership 3 LOH 3 Aug Sep Activities 5 Minutes 4&5 Birthdays 6 Officer Contact 6 There have been some changes within our HOG Chapter s Officers, and I m happy to report that Mary Ann Carroll has taken the Ladies of Harley Officer s position. Also, Kathy Kelly has stepped up to take charge of our HOG Chapter Membership position. Let s make sure to thank them for their dedication to our HOG Chapter! Well done, Mary Ann and Kathy! These are very important Officer positions and both are very qualified to handle the demands of their respective slots.
2 Page 2 Director s Chair Mike Cotrufo Even though I m reading less and less about motorcyclists being involved in car-motorcycle accidents, the occasion still exist for these accidents to happen. The more we ride, chances increase. PLEASE be aware of your surroundings when riding. With the texters and people in general having a ton of stuff on their minds, they are not paying enough attention to us. That s it for now, so as I always close the Hogwash, let me know what I can do to make your membership experience better. me, stop me in the dealership whenever you see me and I will do my best for you! We are the best Chapter in the country! Anyhow, be cool, ride safe and I ll see you soon Mike Cotrufo Ringo Says - Ron Long HI Everyone, The chapter recently lost a long time member. Mike Flory Passed away On Thursday July 30, 2015 at the Cleveland VA. He enjoyed volunteering for any event that we or the dealership had. He will be missed. Rest in Peace Mike. If you have not heard, there will not be a meeting in August do to the fact that some of the officers and members will be attending the PA Hog Rally in Erie on August From what I ve read on line, they have a lot of events planned for everyone that is there. I would like to thank all the volunteers for all your help over the summer. We would not have as much fun as we did without you. Don t forget about the rest of the events that we have planned for the coming months. Keep checking the website for all the details. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. The weather is making it easier to ride. Remember to ride safe and watch other drivers. They forget that we are on the road too. As always, ride safe and have fun. Ron ringo Long
