2 * The Camaraderie Foundation: Private-Sector, Supplemental Spiritual, Emotiona' and Counseling Support for Service Members and Fami'ies A Mission to Serve A non-profit, private-sector organization, The Camaraderie Foundation provides re-deployed or deployed Soldiers, Sailors, Ainnen, Marines, Reservists and National Guard members - and their families - with supplemental support, encouragement and counseling to alleviate the stress associated with their transition from the battlefield back into society. In addition to building a strong community ofsupport for these heroes, The Foundation supplements existing government programs by providing 75% financial assistance for counseling services to qualified service members, spouses and their children. A Commitment to Support The Camaraderie Foundation was founded by Michael and Mamie Waldrop, a couple who faced trying times when Michael was deployed to Afghanistan to serve in Operation Enduring Freedom. Post deployment, they found counseling to be vital in the reintegration of their marriage. While in Afghanistan, Michael saw six of his fellow soldiers face divorce. He has observed others who could have benefitted from professional and spiritual counseling, but avoided seeking it out, because of the stigma often attached to it. Through The Camaraderie Foundation, the Waldrops believe that private counseling and spiritual community encourage service members to seek help, without feeling judged or isolated. We've Seen There.
