2 Jewish Family Services Since 1867, Jewish Family Services (JFS) has provided comprehensive social services to the Jewish and general community in Milwaukee and surrounding cities. JFS mission is to provide supportive services that strengthen families, children and individuals throughout the lifecycle within the context of their unique needs and traditions. Our programs include supportive housing for seniors and people with disabilities; case management and socialization activities for individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness or developmental disabilities; adult, child and family counseling through our outpatient mental health clinic; and volunteer opportunities that engage our clients and the community. JFS helps anyone in need, regardless of race, religion, age, income or sexual orientation. We proudly enable our clients to adapt to change, reach their maximum potential and lead fulfilled lives. Silent Auction& Raffle Come to the luncheon early and bring your competitive spirit! There will be a variety of fantastic items to bid on in the silent auction, to include: vacations, tickets to sporting events, jewelry, family-friendly events, wine tastings and much more. The raffle and silent auction will be open from 11:00am - 12:30pm. Bid high and bid often! Raffle tickets will be sold at the event in the amounts of 3 for $20, 10 for $50 or 25 for $100. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Amercian Express, checks and cash. CommunityChampions JFS is priveleged to recognize the community involvement of Marianne & Sheldon Lubar and the next generation: Kris & John, David & Madeleine, Susan & Oyvind and Joan & John. Growing up in Jewish homes, Sheldon and Marianne learned the importance of caring about others and giving back. They instilled the same values in their children--kris, David, Susan and Joan-leading by example to teach them that they have a responsibility and duty to tikkun olam, to leave the world a better place than how they found it. The number of private and public companies and community organizations the Lubars have impacted are too numerous to mention. Their generosity overflows not only within the Jewish community, but far beyond into the arts, education, and health and human service agencies. The Lubars have developed meaningful relationships with many community organizations by serving on their boards, taking on leadership roles, aiding them in the development of strategic plans and by providing financial resources. By getting personally involved with and supporting the goals and objectives of these organizations, the Lubar family has truly made a difference in the Milwaukee area and beyond. As much as the Lubars have benefited the community at-large, they believe they are the fortunate ones. Each family member has expressed the personal joy and sense of pride they feel from helping others and improving the quality of life in their community. Following in the footsteps of their parents, Kris, David, Susan and Joan, along with their spouses, are now passing down the importance of giving back to a third generation of Lubars.
