2 A Unique Opportunity Ashbrooke House has teamed up with the wonderful Ciara Keenan from Space Studio to deliver a workshop focusing on yoga and wellness. Make space in your life for you. Take some time out from the everyday stresses of life and join us for a weekend dedicated to promoting your physical and mental health and well-being. The retreat is open to those of all abilities - you do not have to have done yoga before to participate. Whilst the focus will be on yoga and relaxation, the atmosphere is one of fun and enjoyment - Irish Craic - in the idyllic setting of Ashbrooke House and The Tack Room Studio. In addition to promoting wellness through yoga, the harmonious environment promotes the sharing of ideas, stimulating conversation and relaxation both during the course and over meal times. This is a unique opportunity to experience and enjoy different styles of yoga and meditation with Ciara in an inspiring setting. You will leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and restored. 01

3 Biography: Ciara Keenan Founder: Space studio and Space Retreats and Certified Instructor Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Yin Yoga, Strala Yoga, Mat Pilates. Vinyasa Flow Yoga Instructor Flow Studio Belfast. I have always been passionate about health and fitness. I have been a fitness instructor for over a decade, training in and teaching Pilates, Yoga and other functional fitness classes. However, I have been practising yoga for almost 20 years, at home and in yoga studios wherever I go and my practice has developed over the last decade to be an integral part of my life. For me yoga is about making space space to move, space to breathe and space to take time out on my mat to connect with myself. Yes, you will get stronger and more flexible with a regular yoga practice but that is not what will keep you coming back to your mat it is the sense of stillness, inner peace and connection to yourself that becomes the reason that so many people fall in love with yoga. I am a certified instructor in Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Yin Yoga, Strala Yoga and Mat Pilates and you can expect all of these influences in my classes. You will be challenged with fluidity and a focus on core strength in my Vinyasa flow classes but always with connection to the breath, a sense of fun and space to slow down and breathe. By contrast in my yin and restorative classes, you will be encouraged to slow down, hold supported poses to encourage release of tension and stress from the body and mind to allow you to find stillness and a sense of complete relaxation. I teach weekly classes in my own studio located in the courtyard of Galgorm Castle Space studio and in Flow Studio Belfast. Outside of regular classes, I also run a series of workshops and retreats that focus on promoting positive physical and mental health and a sense of well-being. I believe that it is so important to find a sense of balance in life to actually be present and enjoy living. We are more connected than ever to the outside world with smartphones and technology but seem to never have enough time to switch off and connect with ourselves. The aim of Space retreats is to create space in your life for some self-care space to breathe and reconnect. These retreats provide you with that space and also practical advice and encouragement about how to incorporate health and wellness practices into your daily life so you can start or continue on your well-being journey. 02

5 The Course The Retreat Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes including you (Anne Lamont) This new year retreat will provide you with an opportunity to unplug from your normal daily routines, work and responsibilities to relax and press the reset button on your body and mind. This retreat is purposely planned for mid-january after the hustle and bustle of the festive season, we often arrive in January feeling stressed and exhausted with the onset of the January blues. Good intentions for healthier habits in the new year can begin to falter quickly as a result. This retreat will allow you to take some time out, create space to slow down, breathe and reconnect with yourself. The focus of the retreat will be on promoting your physical and mental health and sense of well-being. As well as daily walks/runs in the idyllic countryside of the Colebrooke Estate, you will enjoy daily yoga and guided meditation classes. There will also be essential wellness workshops that will encourage you to assess your current lifestyle and mindset and help you to explore ways in which you can incorporate healthy changes into your daily life so you can continue on your well-being journey for the rest of the year. There will also be plenty of opportunity to relax however you wish read, journal, explore - or treat yourself to rejuvenating treatments in the awardwinning Colebrooke Spa. Venue It is hard to imagine a more perfect location for a weekend retreat in Northern Ireland than Ashbrooke House. This discreetly private stately home is nestled in the beautiful countryside on the Colebrooke Estate in the heart of County Fermanagh. It has recently been restored and renovated to provide luxurious accommodation, which has been awarded 5 stars by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. Surrounded by beautiful countryside of broad-leaf and coniferous woodland, rolling hills and a charming river that winds its way through the 1000 acre estate, there is a real sense of being tucked away from the outside world. From the minute you arrive at Ashbrooke House, you will sense the welcoming and relaxing ambience that it has to offer. All rooms are finished to the highest standard with comfortable beds to promote a great night s sleep and there are also plenty of gorgeous living spaces for you to relax in chat to new friends, have a cuppa or curl up with a book in front of the open fire. There is also an on-site gym, award-winning spa and acres of rambling walks to explore. 04

6 Nourishment Food & Drinks Food plays an important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle and this will be reflected during the weekend. All meals will be freshly prepared, nutritious and nourishing. There will also be fresh juices to start your morning and refreshments will be provided throughout the two days. Please give us plenty of notice if you have any specific dietary requirements. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. 05

7 Accommodation About Ashbrooke House is the Dower House for the Colebrooke Estate, which has been occupied by the Brooke family for over 200 years. Formerly the home of Viscount and Viscountess Brookeborough, the house has recently been fully restored and refurbished to provide luxurious accommodation. Sleeping arrangements Guests will be sharing a twin room. If you require your own room there will be a surcharge of 150. Rooms will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We can accommodate a maximum of 20 persons between Ashbrooke House and Whitehill Cottages. Bedrooms in Ashbrooke House 2 x master super-king bedrooms with large en-suites with roll top baths and walk-in showers. 2 x super-king bedrooms which can be converted to twin beds with en-suite bath and shower. 1 x super-king / twin bedroom with disabled access shower room en-suite. 3 x super-king / twin bedrooms these rooms share a separate shower room and bathroom. Catering and dietary requirements The course is fully catered for with 3 home-cooked meals per day including snacks and tea. Please inform us of any allergies at least 2 weeks in advance so we can prepare alternative options. Wine and spirits are provided and guests are asked to contribute to the honesty box, should they wish to indulge. 06

8 Plus ones Our attitude We welcome plus ones even if he / she is not a yogi! There is plenty to do in and around Ashbrooke House. With 1,000 acres to play in, the immediate surroundings offer miles of rambling walks, cycle routes and outdoor activities. Further afield, there is much to explore from the historic town of Enniskillen to Lough Erne and the beaches of Donegal. Don t hesitate to call us for more information. Plus ones are required to pay 250pp. *This price only applies to plus ones who are not participating in the yoga and wellness course but would like to accompany their partner / friend for the weekend. 07

10 Activities Each morning will commence with a fresh juice, sun salutations and a guided meditation. This will be followed by a morning walk (3K) or run (5K). There will be two yoga practices each day the morning class will be energising Vinyasa flow and the evening classes will be yin and restorative. There will be a sun salutation workshop in which we will break down the foundational sun salutations and provide modifications for you to explore. There will also be an essential wellness workshop each day with a specific focus on encouraging you to incorporate healthier practices into your daily routine when you leave the retreat. On the Sunday, we will have exclusive use of Colebrooke Spa facilities in the morning so you can enjoy the sauna, hot tub and relax in the beautiful relaxation room. Use of the spa is optional there will be a workshop running at the same time or you can simply choose to spend some time doing your own thing. This is your weekend and while you are encouraged to participate in all the classes and activities, you can also choose to rest and enjoy the luxurious comfort that Ashbrooke has to offer or to explore the countryside on its doorstep. 09

The balance is due 2 weeks before on 4 January *What s Not Included Use of the spa is optional and is not included in the price. We have exclusive use of the spa on Sunday morning (10am 1pm) and the cost for use of the spa facilities for 2 hours is an additional 20 per person. Treatments cam also be arranged over the course of the weekend by contacting the spa directly.
