The lodge will have a lunch for all. If you have any questions, again, please contact Mr. Beck.

Contact Information on our Regional Manager Gordon Dailey: From the Wisconsin Moose Association President Now that June is here, let s hope for some better weather than we have seen recently, but at least it is not cold. This weekend, June 4 th is graduation at Mooseheart and Pilgrim Conferral. I hope you can attend. There will be food at the Wisconsin House after the ceremony. It is a chance to see and talk to all the wonderful graduates and wish them good luck for the future. It should be a nice time. Don t forget July 1 st -5 th is the International Convention in St. Louis, MO. I am hoping to see many of you there, it should be a good time. Safe travels to all of you. Have a great summer and hope you enjoy whatever you plan on doing whether it is traveling, spending time with the children, grandchildren, family or friends. God Bless Fraternally, Kevin Wanggaard President, WMA From Membership Here we are starting a new Moose Year, with new Lodge Officers, Membership Application Goals, and Membership Retention Goals. Once again we came up a little short of our goals for last year, but I would like to sincerely thank everyone who sponsored a new member, worked on their retention, and worked on the expired list. Here is a little something to think about for this new Moose year. did they do that differs from what you are doing? Success, to my great initial surprise, is duplicable. So is lack of success. We have a choice whose path we follow. Choose and build your bridge across! New Long Term Membership Goals With the start of a new Moose Year, the State Association is starting a new Long Term Membership Promotion. Here is a condensed version of this year s Raise the Roof promotion: Sponsor 3 New or Former Members and receive $10.00 in WMA Moose Bucks [good at all Wisconsin Lodges] Sponsor 5 New or Former Members and receive a large DUFFLE BAG with the 100 th Anniversary Logo. Lodges that reach the Monthly Application Goal will receive $10.00 per application per that month it was reached.

Lodges that reach 7% Preferred members, the Association will assist with a Preferred Members Party. New posters have been mailed out to all Lodges. Short Term Challenge There is also a Short Term Membership Challenge between the State Men s Membership Chairman and the State Women s Membership Chairman that runs from May 1 st, through July 31 st. Between the Men and the Women, whoever sponsors the most new or former members during that time frame gets to throw a pie at the other during the 100 th Annual Convention in September. (If the Men sponsor more than the Women, the Men s Chairman gets to throw a pie at the Women s Chairman). So come on men, please sign up as many new or former members as possible so I do not have to take a pie to the face! Until next month, Mike Rynearson WMS Prelate / Membership michael.rynearson@gmail.com From the Deputy Grand Regent We are finally getting some nice warm weather here in Wisconsin. Our flowers are growing and lots of us are thinking about planting gardens. In this season of rebirth, we also need to continue to keep our children at Mooseheart in our thoughts. When our dues notice arrives or a fundraiser request from Moose Charities, remember how important it is for each of us to continue our monetary support. A recent quote in the Readers Digest magazine from Thornton Wilder said "Money is like Manure. It's not worth a thing unless it's spread around, encouraging young things to grow. Best wishes for a successful growing season Moose Love, Bonnie Rynearson DGR // Message from the Territory #32 Manager We have just completed our first month of the year and the retention portion of our membership needs to be looked at a little differently. This year we are Raising the Roof and have started a little slow. The WOTM are -446, the LOOM is - 357, and the moose legion is -3. In the retention area we need to be pro-active (with the current months renewals) and also work the expired member list. We need to remember that if we take care of our members our members will take care of us. They will be there to help volunteer, to sign new members, to attend our events, and most important spend their dollars in the moose lodge!

Congratulations to those lodges, chapters, and moose legions that were a plus at the end of May. Please remember that our main goal is to be at least one more member better than what we ended the year with. Don t forget about the men vs. women application challenge (May 1, 2016 thru July 31, 2016). I have not heard what will happen to Karyn or Mike yet but I am sure that it will be something good. Fraternally, Gary Beck WI Territorial Manage From the WOTM Membership Chair I hope by now that you all have a Chapter/Lodge Membership Campaign in place. Speaking of campaigns don t forget about the WOTM state campaign in honor of Vickie Draeger, International College of Regents Board Member. Sponsor 5 members between May 1 st and October 31 st and you will receive a beautiful royal blue fleece jacket with the WOTM rose decal. I m hoping that this is the biggest campaign EVER! Also, there s a short term Membership competition / race between the LOOM and the WOTM it s a three month campaign, May, June and July to see who can sponsor the most Members. And I m really hoping that the WOTM can outshine the LOOM during this quarterly campaign. The outcome of this campaign is that one of us, Mike Rynearson or myself, will get a pie in the face at the Fall Conference. So in closing, let s get out there and talk MOOSE loud and proud and help to Raise the Roof! Karyn Johnson WI WOTM Membership Chairman I m so grateful that the nice weather is finally here to stay! Our previous theme was to Build Our Foundation and now it s time to Raise the Roof. We need to continually work on retention and we need to invite others to join this wonderful organization. Golf for Fun and Moose Charities September 12 If you love to golf, here s another way to support Mooseheart.

Don t forget to begin to use the Wisconsin Moose Association s 100 year Logo. sponsor members, become fraternal leaders, and learn more about our Fraternity. Keep it up, Moose Members. With momentum and dedication like this there is not a roof in the world that can contain us. Raise the Roof The Appropriate Moose Theme for The last Moose year we spent building our foundation. And while we did not quite reach where we wanted, there were encouraging signs. LOOM members generated more applications. WOTM did so by over 1,000. A big thank you is in order. But it s time to Raise the Roof. The Mooseheart School Renovation is done. We raised the roof. Now we embark in a $10 million campaign for the residents and facility at Moosehaven. We will raise the roof and focus on that theme for the year. It focuses on the membership and facility. To do so it will take the efforts of a more diverse group of members, not just the people who have supporting the Moose for many years. That was one reason we introduced last year the Rewards Program. It provides incentives encourage new members, as well as the rest of us, to The 2016nnual Golf Outing Set for July 16 Below in this NL is the form for Lodge Golfers to use, or the one on the web page under sports. One should have gone to the Lodges as well. It s sponsored by the Clintonville Moose Lodge # From our Legion Ambassador And to all Moose Legions: This is a reminder for the Moose Legion Members within the Lodges and Jurisdictions, we need some new members. Try to resign up the members that forgot to renew their dues. Let's get started a little early instead of waiting until the last minutes. Respectfully, Robert Rufer Moose Legion Ambassador

From the WMA Sports Chairman The new State Sports Items, times, and places should be posted on line at the end of this News Letter. A decision will happen shortly on Moose Baggs in September. WMA Sports Chair Dan Threlkeld dlvere1951@gmail.com Increase Your Retirement Income and Help Moose Out Too If you'd like to increase your Retirement Funds, save taxes, and help the children at Mooseheart or seniors at Moosehaven at the same time, call us or click on the Link below to access our web site. You can also simply see a local trust attorney in your home town for a detailed no-obligation illustration of how this would work. Should you not have previously worked with a local trust attorney, just go to the following link: tate-planning/mooseheart/illinois, and insert your home town and state instead of Mooseheart/Illinois, and click on "Find Lawyers". You can then review your local choices and decide from there. Please let us know what you do so we can place your name in our "Defending Circle Society", an everlasting remembrance of your informed decision. Thank you Tim Phillips Chair: WMA Moose Charities. 155 S. International Drive Mooseheart, IL Phone: ; Fax: From Youth Awareness Congratulations to Nathan Plym. Nathan represented Wisconsin at the 2016 International Youth Awareness And the winners of the 2016 International Moose Youth Awareness Congress in Williamsburg, Virginia were: $12,000 Maggi Chambers N. Carolina (Maggi won as a 1st time Participant.. ON HER BIRTHDAY!!!!) $8,000 - Austin Shifflett - Virginia $5,000 - Roofina Ali - Pennsylvania $3,000 - Dalton Schutz - Washington $2,000 - Riley Beeler Oklahoma Order More Tommy s? He s been On the Road The order form for Tommy Moose is at the end of the NL. It s a great way to begin your Charity Donations in May to Mooseheart. Below Tommy is with the antlered rabbit, a jack-a-lope, in Douglas, WY.

The branding of Tommy the Moose will be discussed in depth at the Moose International Convention by Scott Hart. Your lodges purchasing of Tommy s, and giving to children and seniors needs, as well as have available for your own members to purchase for their family giving, is simply a great thing for Moose Lodges and their members to do. Heard of Moose? Facebook Page Got a noted event you did and want to share it? Besides the state Facebook page, feel free to Like, and share on the Heard of Moose? page. It s there for all in the country to see what you ve done. La Crosse Moose Lodge has Celebration of Life.... and while Rick s alive. Yes, last month the La Crosse Moose Lodge and Chapter had an afternoon of food, music, and fellowship for their lodge member, and entrepreneur, Rick Blomquist. Rick went along with it as he felt it better I be a participant in his own celebration. What a great idea and event it was. Rick has inoperable brain cancer. Chapter women Debbie Johnson, Carol Becker, and Donna Garbers were the primary go getters to get the Sunday, May 1 - afternoon - event moving. Playing was the group Dan Burger and the Baloney Skins. Rick sang (impressive), shared, and talked with over 200 friends that attended the event. In addition Rick shared with several attendees his love for old cars. He buys and sells, but mostly restores vintage cars for the right price. He has refurbished cars for many stars and corporate CEO s who want them and/or have them just because they can. Rick noted he has no regrets to how he has lived his life. The money you make relates to the risk you re willing to take. Ricke has done it His Way. Child s ID Program The Marinette Moose Lodge will be hosting The Child ID Program at the waterfront in Menominee< MI, during Family Recreation Day on Saturday, June 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Tommy Moose is a friendly, playful, cuddly moose doll whose sole purpose is to bring comfort to children in times of stress, uncertainty, or anxiety. He personifies one of the cornerstone tenants of the Loyal Order of Moose: caring for children. Tommy originated as a Moose community service project in Connecticut and soon spread throughout the US and Canada. Since 2002, over 100,000 Tommy Moose plush dolls have been donated to shelters, hospitals, and emergency workers, who in turn deliver them to children in need of some comfort when facing some of life s biggest challenges.
