5 Quint Program Updates Neighbourhood Homeownership Program Quint s Neighbourhood Homeownership program is inviting families to apply at the following public meeting: Monday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. Room 106, 230 Avenue R South Applciations for the Neighbourhood Homeownership Program will only be available at the meeting, so you must attend in order to apply. Call Laverne or Crystal at ext. 11 Male Youth Lodge The Quint Youth Lodge is a 10 bed transitional residence for young men 16 to 22 years of age who have been experiencing issues related to homelessness. The Youth Lodge offers stable housing and supportive staff to assist the young residents to meet their goals of education, training and employment, as they make steps toward successful independent living. Call Jim at ext. 17 Affordable Rentals One and two bedroom apartments are now available: $ /month A Community Coordinator is available to assist the Tenant Association in planning social events for adults, youth, and children. Currently, a weekly after-school Story Corner takes place for children. This program provides games, crafts, snacks and fun! Core Neighbourhoods at Work CNAW supports include helping with goal setting and discovering people s strengths. We can assist with resume writing, job searching, and job applications. We link participants directly with employers, arrange work placements, and plan short training programs. CNAW also provides referrals to further supports within the community and postemployment support. Since October CNAW has assisted 73 people in finding employment and 25 people have registered for training. Please feel free to contact us at any time, or stop in for a cup of coffee. We can assist you in developing a business plan and work to help secure a business loan. It operates as a co-operative housing program for five young families.
