2 Provides the skin essential activated amino acids issued from hydrolyzed proteins. 3 Evidence of the activation of amino acids (in vitro tests) Protocol: Unilactamin L-17 was tested with or without ATP to show its capacity to activate amino acid present in the hydrolyzed milk protein. This was based on the hydroxamic acid test. This activated version of hydroxylamine produce a red complexes with ferric ions, that can be evaluated by spectrophotometry. 4 Stimulation of epidermal protein synthesis (in vitro tests) Protocol: Unilactamin L-17 was tested for its ability to accelerate the rate of protein synthesis in the epidermal layer. 1% of the product with or without ATP was applied on Skin 2 ZK1302 model (comprising dermis and epidermis). After 22 hours, the protein synthesis rate was determined according to the incorporation of 3 H-proline, by means of a scintillation counter. Result: Unilactamin L-17 at 1% shows an outstanding capacity of stimulating the epidermal protein synthesis, after only 22 hours. 5 Enhancement of dermal regeneration (in vitro tests) Protocol: Unilactamin L-17 was tested for its ability to improve the rate of dermal regeneration. 2.5% of the product with or without ATP was applied on Skin 2 ZK1302 model (comprising dermis and epidermis). After 3 days, the dermal regeneration rate was determined according to the incorporation of 14 C-thyrimidine (DNA synthesis), by means of a scintillation counter. 6 Improvement of skin hydration (Clinical efficacy) Protocol: A placebo and creams containing 5% Unilactamin L-17 were tested in a clinical trial on 30 women (aged between 21-79) to evaluate their ability to improve skin hydration. The creams were applied twice a day on the inside forearm, for 14 days. Skin moisture content was measured with a corneometer 12 hours after last application. 8 Improvement of skin texture (Clinical efficacy) Protocol: A placebo and creams containing 5% Unilactamin L-17 were tested in a clinical trial on 30 women (aged between 21-79) to assess their effectiveness on skin surface profile.
