Identification can be critical for the health and safety of the patient. The presentation will review ocular cancer lesions, ocular surface lesions, and identifying characteristics as well as the innovative diagnostic technique of in-office Impression Cytology. 9:40 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Break Exhibit Hall Exhibition Hall C 10:30 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. Pseudo-Accommodative IOL Post-Op Pearls Robert Prouty, O.D. 1 hour PO COPE: PO (pending) This presentation will cover the nuances in Pseudo- Accommodative IOL post-operative management. These IOL lens types are unique in that they are dynamic and move within the eye. As such, subtle adjustments in post-op management may affect a successful outcome. Case examples will be covered. AND Glaucoma Grand Rounds: What Was Done Wrong? Robert Prouty, O.D. 1 hour GL COPE: GL (pending) This presentation is a grand rounds of various interesting glaucoma cases encountered in optometric primary care. All cases will be presented with management dilemmas and controversies in an interactive method with the audience. 12:10 p.m. - 1:10 p.m. Ballroom A1A2 1:10 p.m. - 2:50 p.m. Decisions in Glaucoma: When to Pull the Trigger Robert Prouty, O.D. Page 4 2 hours GL COPE: GL (pending) Accurate diagnosis is essential in order to initiate timely glaucoma management and treatment. This course will explore the elements of the glaucoma evaluation and discuss the elements as to how they are being rethought or applied today. IOP measurement standards, the need for pachymetry, new Visual Field analysis software, optic nerve scanners, and how other exam elements are utilized to finalize a diagnosis will be covered. 2:50 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Break Exhibit Hall Exhibition Hall C 3:45 p.m. - 5:25 p.m. Neuro Optometry and Traumatic Brain Injury Linda Dejmek, O.D. 2 hours NO Spotting post-concussive visual symptoms in your patient population and helping them regain function is paramount in today s environment, given the public s knowledge regarding concussion. Techniques and suggestions will be addressed to aid you in screening these patients and helping them become more functional. Advanced cases and new techniques regarding their rehabilitation will be discussed. Several cases of both TBI and ABI will be reviewed, with patient videos to enhance your appreciation of the binocular abnormalities inherent in brain injury. Perceptual and binocular abnormalities will be explored in this patient population. 5:25 p.m. 7:15 p.m. Exhibit Hall Open House Exhibition Hall C Thurs 14 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Registration KI Lobby West Counter 7:00 a.m. 8:00 a.m. Continental Breakfast for Doctors Diagnosis of Anomalies of the Optic Nerve 2 hours PS COPE: PS (pending)

5 Page 5 Diagnosis of anomalies of the optic nerve head is important in the care of our patients. Even though most of the conditions to be discussed are stable and usually do not cause great harm to the patient s sight, proper management is required in following and counseling these patients. The course will begin with the anatomy of the optic nerve, which will include histological slides. Developmental anomalies and certain disease conditions will be discussed. Acquired anomalies to be presented are intrapapillary drusen, melanocytomas, myopic changes with tilted discs, and peripapillary crescents. Disease conditions to be covered are optic neuritis and papilledema. Many histopathological examples and visual field analysis studies as well as never seen before OCT images will be presented. 9:40 a.m. - 10:40 a.m. Exhibit Hall Break Final Session Exhibition Hall C 10:40 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. What Does Vitreos Traction Do to the Posterior Pole of Our Patients? 1 hour PS COPE: PS (pending) For decades before OCT, the effects of vitreous traction on the posterior pole were relatively unknown. But now, with spectral domain OCT, these affects are revealed. The traction of the vitreous is much greater than ever expected. Posterior changes now known are torn superficial retinal surface, vitreoschisis, retinoschisis, peripapillary and disc traction, foveal depression distortion, epiretinal membrane formation, and partial and total macular hole formation. Many examples will be shown. AND Video Streaming Retinal Breaks and Detachment 1 hour PS COPE: PS Streaming video peripheral retinal breaks and detachment is a video presentation of retinal breaks and detachment. PVD discussion will describe the formation of a PVD and the role it plays in causing retinal breaks and detachments. PVD videos will show the dynamic movement of this condition e.g., a PVD annulus will be seen to move upon eye movements. The retinal breaks are seen with and without scleral depression in order to enhance the clinician s diagnostic acumen. Scleral depression also allows the clinician to better understand the physiologic processes underlying the formation of these retinal breaks. An operculum of an operculated tear will be seen in motion, a retinal flap tear will be seen to open up under scleral depression, and retinal detachments will undulate upon eye movements. Also, video B scan ultrasonography will be presented to show the movement of the vitreous in PVD and vitreous attachments to operculated and flap tears. The most important aspect of the presentation is allowing the clinician to appreciate the dynamic movement of the detached vitreous and actual application of scleral depression to aid in the diagnosis of retinal breaks. 12:15 p.m. 1:20 p.m. for Doctors Ballroom A1A2 1:20 p.m. 3:00 p.m. Trauma of the Posterior Segment 2 hours PS COPE: PS (pending) The course will cover various traumatic insults to the posterior segment, including diagnosis and treatment. The lecture starts with the lens and ends with the bony orbit. The topics include: dislocation and cataracts of the lens, vitreous prolapse in the AC, vitreous hemorrhage, commotio retinae, and retinal tears WOA CE Events April Spring Seminar 14 hours CE Hyatt Regency, Green Bay Oct 6-8 Northwoods Education Event 8 hours CE Eagle Waters Resort Sept Convention and Annual Meeting 22 hours CE Marriott Madison West Nov Primary Care Symposium 15 hours CE Kalahari Resort, WI Dells
