The following interactive lecture will present patient cases with unique presentations of ocular conditions, including special testing. The course will focus on the clinician s ability to analyze and interpret the unique case presentation and provide appropriate management and treatment options. Instructor: Blair Lonsberry, OD Category: Oral Pharmacology - Total CE Hours: 1 Description: Optometrists are familiar with the use of topical antibiotics in the treatment of ocular conditions. However, optometrists often hesitate in the use of systemic antibiotics in treatment protocols. Utilizing the latest in interactive technology, this course will review the major groups of antibiotics, their modes of action and their systemic indications in infection management. Technologies range from stem cell and amniotic membrane therapies to point of care diagnostics, new diagnostic devices for imaging, advances in ocular surface disease and advanced refraction technology. Technologies range from corneal cross linking to advances in the management of glaucoma and retinal disease. Innovations in cataract surgery and therapies for presbyopia as well as genetics genomics, drug delivery systems, neurological disease assessment and corrections including color deficiency. This course will help optometry best position themselves as a profession and in terms of adopting key technologies that will enhance their lives and the lives of patients. COPE ID:52306-AS Instructor: Paul Karpecki OD Course Title: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Anterior Uveitis Management. Category: Treatment and Management of Anterior Segment Total CE Hours: 1 Description: This lecture allows the participant an understanding of the etiology, key diagnostic factors and treatment options in iritis management. A series of seven rules of effective anterior uveitis management will be discussed to help clinicians effectively manage this inflammatory condition and avoid potential complications. The presentation will be conducted in a participation-based, grand rounds format to better assist in understanding iritis management.
