Peter Cass; Michael Chaglasian; Dennis Cosgrove; Alan Kabat and Michael Lyons. We are sure you will not want to miss this great continuing education event! TAOP s Casino Party Could Make You a Big Winner! Immediately following a reception honoring past presidents, TAOP will host a Casino Party on Friday, October 16 th in the ballroom at the Park Vista Hotel. The Casino Party will begin at 6:00 pm immediately following the Presidents Reception. The Casino Party will include Black Jack, Three Card Poker, Craps, Roulette and Bingo games. Participants will be able enjoy any or all of the games while the Casino is open. A live auction for some great prizes will start at 8:00. Participants will bid on the prizes with their winnings from the games. Each participant will receive $25,000 in game dollars and will be able to demonstrate their gaming skills (and good luck) in amassing their pot for bidding on flat screen TVs and other fabulous prizes. There is no additional registration fee for those registered for the TAOP Congress. The registration fee for guests will be $35. Beverages and snacks will be available in the Casino. This will be a fun event that you will not want to miss at your TAOP Congress. Free Childcare will also be available. Room Reservations: TAOP has negotiated a $129 plus tax room rate for the Congress this year. The room cut-off is September 12, To make reservations call the Park Vista directly at The on-property reservations office is open M-F, 7am to 9pm and Sat-Sun, 8am-7pm. They will be glad to take your reservation directly. Make your room reservations early rooms will go FAST! TAOP Annual Golf Tournament: This year s tournament will once again be held at the Gatlinburg Golf Club. The tournament will begin at 1:00 P.M. EST on Wednesday October 14 th, Prizes will be given away immediately following the tournament. This is a great chance to network with suppliers who support the TAOP. You may register for this event even if you are not registering for the TAOP Congress. Registration is $75 and there is a separate registration form in the packet for this event. TAOP Exhibit Hall: There is always something new at the TAOP Exhibit Hall!!! We are excited about the many new companies exhibiting this year and are pleased to have our regular companies back! We anticipate having around 65 exhibits and we hope you will plan now to shop and put your money to work in the TAOP Exhibit Hall. The exhibit hours are Thursday October 15 th, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. EST and on Friday October 16 th, 2014 from 12:00 Noon 2:00 p.m. EST. Lunch will be served in the Exhibit Hall on both days and door prizes will be given away. Support those companies who support YOUR Association! Class Reunions : This year the TAOP will be honoring graduating classes from any Optometry School for the years of 2014, 2004, 1994, 1984, 1974, 1964, 1954, 1944 and TAOP Congress attendees from these graduating classes will be offered a discounted Congress registration fee of $295 (Applies to TAOP members only). Drug Diversion & Abuse Course: We will once again be offering the State mandated Drug Diversion and Abuse course, which has been changed by the Health Related Boards to a mandated two hour course. We are offering this under a separate registration fee of $100. You do not have to be registered for the Congress to attend the course, just check Drug Diversion & Abuse on the enclosed registration form and return with the $100 member or $215 non-member registration fee. Paraoptometric Education: The Tennessee Paraoptometric Association has developed an excellent program for this year s Congress. Information regarding this program will be mailed to your office manager soon or you can access it on the TAOP Website ( Please plan on sending your staff to this program which will begin with exhibit hall opening at 11:00 a.m. EST on Thursday October 15 th, Plan TODAY to attend the exciting 2015 TAOP Congress and don t forget to bring the family. 2 Thursday October 15, th Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians Annual Congress 7:30 am - 9:00 am TOA Membership Meeting # 1 Breakfast Sponsored By: Allergan 9:00 am - 11:00 am Visual Evoked Potential VEP & Electroretinography ERG ( COPE NO ) This two hour lecture is designed to re-familiarize the Optometrist with VEP and ERG clinical application and impact on care. 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Exhibit Hall with Lunch Served 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Tip Of The Iceberg ( COPE PD ) Dr. Diana Shechtman The proper diagnosis of a posterior segment ocular lesion may be challenging. This course will review distinct posterior ocular lesions seen in practice today. The course will highlight the associated underlying systemic disease and potential for morality, as well as the proper management of the distinct lesion. 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm OCT Beyond the Maculae ( COPE PS ) Dr. Diana Shechtman OCT is a diagnostic modality used in the evaluation of retinal diseases. Its ability to depict a cross sectional image, allows us to distinguish pathological changes, particularly those associated with macular disease. This lecture presents challenging cases where OCT analysis played a key role in the evaluation of the retinal condition that go beyond macular disease. 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm SCO Reception Friday October 16, :30 am - 10:00 am TOA Membership Meeting #2 & Installation of Officers & Awards Breakfast 10:00 am - 11:00 am Evaluating Your Practice ( PM ) Key metrics in Optometry, This course will review the best practices for evaluating the revenue and expenses of an optometric practice, including key income sources such as exams, glasses and contacts. 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Efficiency: How To See 50 Patients Per Day ( COPE PM ) This lecture will focus on techniques and strategies to practice more efficiently by utilizing high tech instruments and well trained staff. Examples of how to compress your patient schedule to create free time or office hours for actively managing your practice will be highlighted. Budgeting and implementing changes to workflow and staffing as well as the financial benefits will be explained. 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Exhibit Hall with Lunch Served 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Dropless Cataract Surgery And The Benefits For Patients, The Surgeon And The Optometrist ( COPE PENDING ) Dr. Dennis Cosgrove With dropless cataract surgery, the need for post operative medications after cataract surgery is eliminated or reduced. Benefits include convenience and reduced cost for patients and improved compliance to ease the surgeon and optometrist concerns. Risk and benefits of this new delivery method at the time of surgery will be discussed.

3 Friday October 16, 2015 ( CONTINUED ) 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm The Use of Diagnostic Imaging in Glaucoma ( COPE PENDING ) Dr. Michael Chaglasian This course presents the current approaches to the diagnosis and management of glaucoma with OCT and related imaging technology. A stepwise approach with case presentations and examples from multiple instruments will guide the practitioner to a more efficient utilization of these devices. Saturday October 17, :00 am - 10:00 am Glaucoma: Clinical Pearls for Challenging Cases ( COPE PENDING ) Dr. Michael Chaglasian This course will present the most current approaches to managing patients with glaucoma. Reviewed diagnostic approaches include optic nerve evaluation, nerve fiber analysis, IOP measurement, pachymetry and ocular perfusion pressure. Case studies will reflect the presented concepts. 10:00 am - 12:00 pm You re Putting What in My Eye? ( COPE PENDING ) Dr. Michael Lyons Looking for game changers in your practice? This course will focus on custom devices we have, literally on our fingertips, that will improve the quality of your patients vision and help take your practice to the next level in specialty eye care. Dr. Lyons will review the concepts of specialty lenses, including hybrid and scleral lenses, and also discuss the use of amniotic membranes. This highly visual presentation will define the different presentations of the conditions and outline the suggested pharmacological approach to controlling them. Dr. Lyons will also review the concept of specialty contacts to help restore the vision in these patients.
