2 Dear Prospective Sponsoring Partner, It is with great pleasure we invite you to join Community Water Center s 4th Annual Water Justice Leadership Awards event on Wednesday, February 7, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Mayahuel in downtown Sacramento. This event will be an opportunity to recognize leaders who have been working tirelessly, even against great odds, to ensure the basic human right of safe drinking water in California. This year, CWC and its partners have taken on the daunting task of advocating for a sustainable statewide funding source to ensure access to safe and affordable water. Right now, there is funding to build drinking water treatment plants and other capital costs, but no assistance to operate and maintain these systems. This critical funding gap has kept safe drinking water out of reach for more than one million Californians who are impacted by unsafe drinking water. During this time, we need your support more than ever, and we invite you to join us and our community partners at this event, as well as members of the Legislature, foundation partners, state agency officials, and representatives from statewide environmental justice, health, human rights, labor, academic, legal, tribal, and faith-based organizations.
