1 JANUARY 2011 Founded December 1951, Incorporated May 1965 VOLUME 61, NO. 5 Coming Events Reminder: All competition meetings start promptly at 7:30 PM. No slides or prints accepted after that time. January th Thursday, 7:30 PM: Competition Judge: Dick Hunt Location: Library, Community Room 20 Thursday,7:30 PM: Inspiring Your Creative Vision Speaker: Ron Goldman Location: Great Neck House February rd Thursday, 7:30 PM: Competition Judge: Ken Bausert Location: Library, Community Room 17 th Thursday, 7:30 PM: TBA Presenter: Michael Marziotto Location: Great Neck House President s Letter First to our membership, a healthy and Happy New Year and one in which we all prosper in some way. A new year is upon us and as we reminisce about the past year, we often think of things that we wish had happened or that we wanted to happen over that time. I think what we really need to do is look to the future and try to set ourselves a path that will allow for more intellectual expansion. We need to read more, think more and do more things that allow for this expansion. While it may be okay to sit on watch TV a lot, the truth is doing and being more physically active is a better alternative. Go out and shoot more, do more traveling even on a short-term basis. Take many photographs to understand what it is we do when we press that little button. Think more about why we do it and what we are trying to do. I do not want to get too philosophical and so I will keep this letter short. My term as President is approaching an end and I do so hope all of you learned even one little thing these past three years. My deepest regards, and Happy New Year to All. The ColorWheel January George V. Novello President
