HOME DEPOT VOLUNTEERED IN OUR COMMUNITY Saturday, April 21 st Home Depot helped us clean out our storage container at the Community Center after our breakfast meeting. Several members signed a work party sheet to help, as well. 1
2 LEONA VALLEY ELEMENTARY DONATES $ TOWARDS SCHOLARSHIP FUND MAY Birthdays Ray Mullen Kathy Owen, President of the Elementary School PTO, Sertoma Sponsorship Chairman Receiving $ donation for discretionary use, as needed in honor of Leo Rohaley. The scholarship Anniversaries Mike Waters -10 committee will decide how to best use these funds. SALUTE TO LEONA VALLEY Sunday May 20 there will be another Salute in. From noon to 3:00 the doors will open to honor our history of the LVIA Newsletters. Several copies dating back to the 1960's will be available for viewing. Join us and review the past as our town recorded events, people, organizaitons and more. The unfortunate fires, traffic accidents and other loses are also there. A big pine tree is being planted in memory of Leo Rohaley, Jr at the museum. The theme has been picked for the Cherry Parade. Sertoma was asked if we would like to be part of the LVIA welcome packets that will be distributed to new residents.

Bar did well. We usually sell 212 dinners. This year we only sold 168. (81 senior, 63 adults, 15 kids, and 4 comp. dinners total 168). Due to the severe weather conditions we experienced throughout the day. Heavy rains, sleet ending the day with snow. Decreased participation is understandable. We have left over corned beef that will be used to make pork sliders and ruben sandwiches during the Cherry Parade festivities. SOUND SYSTEMS to aid hearing impaired children at Westwind Elementary School and Hughes-Elizabeth Lake Unified School District (HELUS) PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT for Elementary School Upgrades to the Leona Valley, Green Valley, and Lake Hughes Schools. COMMUNITY CENTERS WELCOME SIGN and community bulletin board for LAKES LITTLE LEAGUE, $ annual donation 4H CLUBS, and the Leona Valley GYMKHANA QUEEN CONTEST PORTABLE GENREATORS donated to Lake Hughes and Fire Departments to be used to raise the fire doors during power outages saving valuable response time.
