Jerry underwent open Heart Surgery on July 19, However, when someone has 5 bypass surgeries, sometimes complications start. This has been Jerry s struggle and has not been able to return to work. We, as Moose Members, need to step up to help Jerry & Connie with some financial assistance. Tallahassee Moose Lodge Will be hosting a FUNDRAISER On September 30, pm. Till? Food, Silent Auctions, 1/2 & 1/2 drawings, etc.

A Team Is a group of people that trust each other. Well August is gone and boy was it Hot-Hot-Hot! Another thing that was Hot-Hot-Hot was the Battle of The Bands for K-9 Warriors. I have to say this event was off the charts as I had expected it to be, and I hope everyone had a great time. Special thanks to all the Board of Officers that contributed to making this event so successful. Especially, Deeder s for the outstanding job he did in the Social Quarters. Also, a special thanks to the WOTM Committee along with Donna for all your hard work in making this another successful event. Donna, we are very pleased you stayed with us and for all that you do everyday. As always, I look forward to all the upcoming events in the month s ahead and sincerely appreciate all of our planning committees and volunteers that step up to make these events so successful. If anyone would like to volunteer or help plan an upcoming event, please see Donna Gandy, Tina Crayton, or myself. To close, the Pool Team and myself are about to head off to Merritt Island this coming Labor Day weekend for the State Pool Tournament, and then I will be off to the Moose Mid-Year Conference in Orlando soon after. 3 Page 3 Greetings From the Senior Regent Hello September, Football season, & Cooler weather. FOOT- BALL Every Saturday in September Come Join the Fun Wow, August went by so fast. Our Mooseheart/Moosehaven Committee Chair, Terri Owen, had an Awesome turn out for the Luau dinner. Thanks to All on her committee that helped with her project. I am so happy to see everyone coming back for our Wednesday night pool tournaments. We are always looking for new players, so come out eat a great Dinner at 6:30pm & sign up for the tournament by 7:30pm. It was so humbling to witness the LOOM & WOTM work Together to put on our 1st Annual Battle of the Bands. We all worked our butts off. Thank you to everyone who donated salads & deserts. Thanks to all who was in the Kitchen(all day) and to our awesome members who stepped up where the need was needed. From cooking, to bartenders, to taking out the trash, to clean up and setting the Bingo room back up. I'm sure I would forget someone if I tried to name everyone that volunteered their time, however you know who you are. You did an Awesome job and I Thank you!! I think all the bands were spectacular. We had a Great turnout all for a wonderful cause, "K -9 for Warriors." ~Volunteers, Volunteers, Volunteers~ Definition=[Freely offers their time up to take part in a service or task to someone, or a person that actively/willingly takes on a task or project.] Yes we love All our Volunteers. I know first-hand, how hard it is to work at our everyday JOB's then volunteer your time somewhere else. Sometimes it can become overwhelming and that is why we are always looking for new faces to just step up. Whether it be in the kitchen, or in Bingo or helping with clean up duties. This month's WOTM Volunteer of the Month is someone who has done just that with a giving heart, Karen Bain. Thank you for always being there when we need you! Enjoy your Free spaghetti dinner. So who will be the next volunteer of the Month? Up Coming Events: Friday, September 1 st, I, your Sr. Regent, along with my volunteers will be cooking up Lasagna & Garlic Knots (by Deeders). Friday, September 8 th, the WOTM will be cooking Steaks (by Martha). Monday, September 11 th, is the WOTM Chapter Activity Night Meeting (it's the first meeting of the Month). 4 Page 4 Greetings from your Administrator Wow. Who would have ever imagined our Lodge would raise a record amount of money for a Fundraiser on a new event we have never put on. Well, that is exactly what we did at our 1 st Annual Bands & BBQ Event. As a result, we will be donating $5,000 to K-9s for Warrior. This event took a couple months of planning and the hard work of so many Moose Volunteers. A big thank you and high five to all the volunteers and the 4 bands that volunteered their time and effort to make this fundraiser such a great success. It was simply wonderful. We have another fundraiser scheduled for this month that we need support from all members of our Lodge. Jerry Monk is a member of our Lodge and is also the Territory Manager/FBMA Liaison for the State of Florida. Jerry is still in the recovery stage from having 5 heart by-pass surgeries. Because of medical bills and Jerry not being able to go back to work, he needs our help. Jerry has for years devoted himself to providing help to Moose Lodges and Moose members all over. It is time for us to step up and pay it forward. On Saturday, September 30, we will be hosting a fundraiser for Jerry. There will be many activities planned, auctions, raffles and food. It promises to be a fun day for a great cause and I urge all our members to mark this date on your calendar and come out and participate. This is what being a Moose is all about. 7 Page 7 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. The Leon event is a noncompetitive 3-mile walk that brings people together to make a difference for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer. The events raise money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it's most treatable. From the opening ceremony to the post-walk entertainment, a Making Strides event is a celebration of survivors and opportunity to remember loved-ones lost. It's a day that shouldn't be missed and won't be forgotten.
