3 GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC) Minutes December 20, 2017 President Freddie Haugh called the meeting to order. Thirty-two members were in attendance. GUESTS: None. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Freddie thanked Herbie, Judy, Bob, Tom, Carol, Donna, Peggy, Terri, Mike and her Bob for all their help and hard work for the Club during She looks forward to working with them in Donna Tucker also added thanks to Freddie for her leadership. Freddie thanked Dan Gorby and Donna Tucker for hosting the dinner out on December 6 at Carvers Steak House. The food and company were great. On behalf of her and Bob, she wished everyone and their families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. VICE PRESIDENT: Bob Haugh called for the following committee reports: SECRETARY S REPORT: Larry Kopa motioned dispensing with reading of the November minutes. Carl Durbin seconded. TREASURER S REPORT: Herbie Smith provided the report. SOCIAL: Donna Tucker recapped the following events: January 12: Dinner out at 6:00 p.m. Chappy s Tap House, Centerville OH hosted by Bob and Freddie Haugh. April 25-29: National Corvette Museum (NCM) Bash, Bowling Green KY. Donna has blocked 12 rooms at the America s Best Value Inn for $89.60 (includes tax) which can be booked now. There are 3 rooms left. NCM registration will open in January June 21-23: Trip to Lexington KY to visit distilleries and horse farms. More information to follow. Donna said that all months in 2018 have someone hosting a dinner out. Carol Tavener suggested changing the dinner times to 6:30 p.m. for those members who currently work.

4 MEMBERSHIP: Carol Tavener reported that we currently have 141 members. She is waiting to hear from 16 members about renewing. John and Betty Kangas are not joining this year due to John s back and knee surgeries. PUBLIC RELATIONS: No report. EDITOR/ WEBMASTER: No report. NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM (NCM) AMBASSADOR: Tom Brooks discussed the Corvette experience package, one of the benefits of being a member of the NCM. The package includes: Watch the build of your car. Taking delivery of your car at the NCM. Private tour. Pictures, notebook and plaque. For an additional $5,000 you can assist in the engine build. Tom also mentioned that you can have your car spotlighted in the Museum. If selected, Museum personnel will polish and clean your car for a one or two day showing. President s Corner: Old Business Freddie has name tags for those who ordered one but haven t received theirs yet. At the November meeting it was voted on and approved that the current officers will remain in their respective positions for New Business Freddie said that this is the month that we decide on donations to various charities. She opened the floor for nominations. The following organizations were motioned and approved for a donation: Alzheimer s Association American Cancer Society Dayton Veteran s Volunteer Services Fisher House Hope for the Warriors Kentucky Trooper Island National Corvette Museum St. Vincent DePaul Society St. Jude Children s Research Hospital

5 St. Peter Food Bank USO Ken Huff said that he is selling his 2017 Black Rose Corvette. If interested, contact him and he will provide you the information for the dealership that has the Corvette. He has ordered a new Sebring Orange Corvette. Carol Tavener suggested giving a round of applause to Donna Tucker for all the activities she planned for the Club this past year. Freddie will schedule a future E-Board meeting. George Frymyer conducted the 50/50 drawing which was won by Carl Durbin.
