2 Vice Chair: All is well, thank you for the opportunity to serve. Ed C Secretary: All is well, thank you for allowing me to serve. Tina S Treasurer: We have met with Richard and Ginny to hand over the bank account yesterday to me and Lesley. I also, want to thank Richard for helping with last months payments until we got the bank account handover, and I would probably be calling him for help this month as well! As of 3/10/19 we have $3, in the bank account. We were planning to have the prudent reserve of $7,500 after income from last month ($1,973) and donation to region ($5,400), world ($2,315). After paying the storage and comcast payments, and the substantial payment for literature ($3,518), we re below that level right now. Since literature order happens in large sum every couple of months, we should be back on track in the next 2 months considering average donation from groups. Also-wanted to check if we are donating 2 Basic Text as rent for ASC each month. Hazal G Vice Treasurer: All is well with Vice Treasurer, thank you for the opportunity to serve. Lesley D Regional Committee Member (RCM): Here is the link to: Regional Minutes Region met on February 16 th,2019. We had 11 of 16 areas attending. We were approached by the planning committee for the 40th anniversary of NA in RVA. However, I will be out of town and Richmond feels as I do, that we need to do this together and my absence will hinder the workshop. So, we are meeting on Wednesday to go over dates, and locations. Next area I will have the date, time and location for the workshop. Michael L Regional Committee Member (RCM) Alternate: All is well with Alt. RCM. I attended region last month and I will continue to get acclimated to region. It is definitely a change!! There are several nominations that Michael will cover. Steven W 3
4 Trusted Servant Reports Virginia Regional Convention Corporation (VRCC) Director: All is well, we have an upcoming meeting next Sunday March 17 th. We are still in need of a nomination for the host committee secretary. VRCC is looking for bids for the 2021 AVCNA but per policy our area is unable to host it for another 3 years since we just hosted the 2019 AVCNA. Both Christian and I will attend the meeting next week and will have more info to share at next month s ASC. In loving service, Tina S Virginia Regional Convention Corporation (VRCC) Alt Director: All is well. I will attend the March 17 th VRCC board meeting with Tina. Tina S Subcommittee Reports Campout: Panda is on June 15 th. Our chair is out living the dream in Florida but is on his way back. Jim C H&I: All is well with H&I. Tina S Literature: All is well with Literature. Thank you all for on time orders, it helps tremendously! Please continue sending orders to me at (804) by 10pm the Saturday before area. I have printed out a lot of order forms, so anyone who needs one can get them from me. Totals will continue to be sent out the morning of area. Going forward, please try not to order more than 20 of a single key tag at a time. This is to prevent running out of any key tags and not being able to fill all orders. Thank you all for your service and for continuing to allow me to serve. Montana C 4
5 Policy: All is well with Policy. I have updated the policy guide to reflect motions passed last month, specifically outreach budget increase and how we deal with postponing ASC during inclimate weather. We have two elections this month, Outreach Chair and Policy Chair. Since today is the last month of my term, I would like to thank everyone for allowing me to be Policy Chair. I have learned a tremendous amount and enjoyed working with everyone for the benefit of NA in our area. If no one else is nominated, it would be my honor to accept nomination for another year of service. Blake R Public Relations: All is well with PR. The next phoneline workshop is scheduled for 1pm-4pm Saturday May 11 th at the Meadowdale Branch of the Chesterfield County Public Library. The Unified PR Committee is working on several items, including distributing NA literature to pharmacies and starting a Metro Richmond newsletter. VPR will staff a table at the 40 th anniversary event, scheduled for May 18 th, Richard S continues to train PR members on information technology with regard to PR. Christian F Outreach: All is well with Outreach. Monthly meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month at 6pm. We are always looking for new members and there s no clean time requirement. We have printed up dated Meetings that Need Experience, Strength, and Hope list and we encourage each GSR to take copies back to homegroups and put them with other literature and IPs where they will be seen. If your homegroup needs support, please note it under Special Needs in your Homegroup Report and we will add your meeting to our list for the following month. Outreach placed an order with Literature for $85.54 Jimmy K s Angels is no longer a meeting. This is the last day of my term, I want to thank y all for the great opportunity for being the Outreach Chair and for the service work. Sandy T Special Events Chair: We are actively assisting with the 40 th Anniversary celebration on May 18 th. Will include speakers, food, dance and homegroup countdown. We are looking for members to help with activities. Also, planning a bingo, pool party and perhaps a golf tournament. Call me if you want to volunteer (804) Coleen C 5
6 Ad Hoc I always want to share my recovery but I don t want to share my diseases-(any of them!) I have been diagnosed with the flu and will not be attending ASC today. On February 16 th we held a meeting to gauge interest in jointly hosting a 40 th birthday celebration for NA in Richmond. Approximately 20 addicts from New Dominion and the Richmond Area were in attendance. Interest was high so we moved forward with electing leadership for a joint committee to plan and host the event. Election results were as follows: Chair: Nancy L. (ND), Vice chair: Bobby D. (R), Treasurer: Jeff H. (ND) and Secretary: Chrissy R. (ND). Carol P (Richmond Special Events) and Coleen S. (New Dominion Special Events) volunteered to create a proposed program. Others volunteered to handle specific tasks at the event. The newly formed committee met on 3/3/19 at 1205 W Franklin St and more specifics were discussed including how to fund the event, the location, speakers/panels, refreshments, a dance and format. The Tri-Cities Area of NA has also volunteered to help with the event. The event will be May 18,2019 at 2300 Dumbarton Rd. The Fellowship Hall and the kitchen have been reserved. The next meeting of the Host Committee will be 3/17/19 2pm at Sterling Beaufont Apt. Clubhouse 6839 Carnation St Richmond Any addicts interested in helping are encouraged to attend. If you have questions, please direct them to Nancy L or Coleen S. I am submitting a receipt and requesting reimbursement for the rent I paid for the meeting space for the initial AD Hoc committee meeting. In loving service, Ed C.
