2 WHO WE ARE NuHope Street + REST Real Escape From the Sex Trade The objective of NuHope Street is to help children and families focusing locally and globally on providing educational, medical and life-sustaining resources. Support ranges from facilitating the building of a school across the world to helping an organization provide a center for homeless teens/children just down the street. Beneficiaries are chosen based on their ability to utilize our resources to directly impact their cause & mission. REST Real Escape from the Sex Trade was founded in November 2009 by a small team of women with experience dealing with troubled youth and sexual abuse issues, and other members of the team with backgrounds in wraparound services and case management to develop relationships with people being commercially sexually exploited (trafficked), or otherwise engaged in the sex trade or are at risk to enter. WORLDWIDE, 99% OF VICTIMS ARE NEVER RESCUED AND LESS THAN 1% OF TRAFFICKERS ARE EVER CONVICTED. The goal of REST is simple to provide pathways to freedom, safety, and hope to victims of sex trafficking and people involved in the sex trade. Each year, they provide direct services to hundreds of people exploited by the sex trade in Seattle and the greater King County area. Through their holistic continuum of care (prevention, intervention, and aftercare), they serve those who are at-risk, actively in, and those taking steps towards exiting a life of sexual exploitation. Their desire is to see Washington become hostile to traffickers and to work themselves out of a job. IN THE UNITED STATES THE AVERAGE TRAFFICKING VICTIM IS 15 YEARS OF AGE. 1 IN 6 RUN-AWAYS ARE LIKELY VICTIMS OF SEX TRAFFICKING.
