4 Grand Knight s Letter The Communicant Dear Brother Knight, spouses and social club members: Our October Council meeting is to be held on Monday October 7, 2013 at 7:30 PM. Our next Breakfast for Charity will be held Sunday October 13, Bring the family, have a good breakfast and donate to a good cause. Proceeds to benefit Right to Life. The Northside K of C Realty Board and Social Club will conduct its Annual Meeting and election of Officers for the coming year in October. Details to be listed in the Communicant. Please plan on attending. Applications are available from the club or any officer. Mark your calendar for Tuesday November 12 for our annual Memorial Mass for our fallen Knights. Our Chaplain, Father Rob, will celebrate Mass at 7:00 PM and the Chatard High School Student Choir will sing at the liturgy. All our invited to this moving ceremony in remembrance of our deceased Knights. We are hosting a First Degree on Monday November 18, Please recruit a Northside Catholic gentleman to join our Council and come to the ceremony. Our sixth annual Knights Night out is to be held on Tuesday December 17, More details to follow. Our annual North Deanery Catholic School Teacher Appreciation Night is to be held on Friday January 24, More details to come. I hope to see you soon at one of our Council or club events. 5 The Communicant PRESIDENT S LETTER Greetings Knights and Social Club Members: Come and see what is going on at the Knights of Columbus. Highlighted events in the month of October include the following: SUNDAY FOOTBALL FOOD DRIVE: Some of you may have noticed that there is a bin in the lounge taking donations of canned foods and other non-perishable goods to benefit different local food pantries in our area as they plan for the coming winter months. In order to be of service in our community and assist in stocking these organizations we will have placed this bin as a donation drop which will accept donations at all times and we will be organizing special promotions on Sunday during Colts broadcasts when our Boys In Blue are playing away. ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING AND ELECTIONS Our annual business meetings and elections are coming up on October 7, 6:30 in the before the council meeting. The meeting will begin with an overview of our financial status and then an outlook for projects that are coming up in the next calendar year. The Realty Board is made up of Knights of the Council and Social Club members and is charged with maintenance of the facility, review and oversight of finances, upgrades to the facility, advertising, and directing and assisting our management staff. Board members are elected for a three year term. Different projects that we have been involved with this year have been the renovation of the bar, implementation of the POS system, and the planning and staffing of annual events. If this sounds like something you are interested in or feel you could be an asset to the club please feel free to contact me for more information. Applications for consideration will be available in the Lounge. BREAKFAST FOR CHARITY The monthly breakfast for charity will be on Sunday October 13, 2012, to benefit local charities. Whether you volunteer or just bring the family for a meal to support a good cause your participation and help is appreciated. Seib, Realty Board President Council #3433 Rosary and Prayer Intentions The Rosary will be said prior to each monthly Council meeting. We will meet in the dining room at 7PM to say the Rosary. If the dining room is not available to us we will find another area to pray. Look for signage in the lobby directing where the Rosary will be said. All are welcome to join us in prayer. Prayer Intentions: We pray for Pope Francis I, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Archbishop Emeritus Buechlein, Archbishop Tobin, Auxiliary, Bishop Coyne, All Clergy, Seminarians and those in Holy Orders, An end to abortion and respect for all life, Our military, firefighters, policemen, medical personnel and teachers, We pray for all Knights and their families. Council 3433 new website has been launched, is up, and running.
