3 News from your Governor: We now head into the holiday season and it becomes a busy time of year for all. I hope you have added Mooseheart and Moosehaven to your Christmas list. We will be closed Thanksgiving day and December 24th and 25th so our volunteers can spend the holidays with their families. Tuesday, November 19 th, will be our lodge Thanksgiving dinner. Please bring a dish and join us. Be ready to bring in the New Year with our hillbilly party. March the 8th there will be a dinner and silent auction for Special Olympics. 4 ADMINISTRATOR S CORNER: Moose Family, As we get into the Holiday Season we are going to start our annual food/toy drive. If you would like to donate food and/or toys, please bring to the lodge. The next few months are starting to fill up fast. If you would like to have a holiday party or a family reunion or graduation party here in the next few months, please come see me. Starting November 9 th Panama City is hosting the Panhandle Counsel of Higher Degree Party. There will be a rib cook off between the lodges. There will be games at 1pm (cornhole/pool) all day and karaoke/dj that night starting at 7pm. Nov. 16 th will be the Moose Legion Fish Fry from Tuesday, Nov. 26 th, we will have our annual Thanksgiving dinner. The lodge will provide the turkeys and ham, we just ask that you bring a side dish to share and bring a can good per person for our food drive.. December 14 th will be our toy/food drive. You MUST bring a $10 unwrapped gift for a boy or a girl or please donate $10. Food and music will be provided. New Years Eve will be a Hillbilly/redneck theme again this year. Doors will open at 6pm. As always we have our Friday night steak, shrimp, or chicken dinners. We are looking for volunteers from the men to help in the kitchen. If you are interested please see Mike Davis. 5 Message from the Senior Regent: HELLO EVERYONE, I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IT IS ALREADY NOVEMBER. I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR HARD WORK IN RAISING OVER $ FOR MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER. WE SHOULD ALL BE PROUD OF WHAT WE HAVE RAISED. I ALSO WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR HELPING OUT WITH THE HITS SHOW. THANK YOU TO ALL THE MEN THAT HELP MAKE OUR SHOW GREAT. OUR FUND RAISER FOR THIS MONTH IS A TURKEY WITH A $ WORTH OF LOTTERY TICKETS. YOU MAY PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS FROM ANY WOTM OFFICER AND HELP SUPPORT OUR FUND RAISER. OUR MEETINGS FOR THIS MONTH WILL BE ON NOV. 4 AND NOV. 18TH. REMEMBER TUESDAY NIGHT IS DINNER WITH THE WOTM COOKING. NOV. 5, WILL BE CHILI NOV. 12 WILL BE BREAKFAST FOR DINNER. 6 MOOSE LEGION CHAIRMAN Hello Moose Legionnaires and Lady Boosters, We are approaching the end of the year and looking back, I am so proud for what we have accomplished and the charities we helped. I want my crew to know how much I applaud your efforts and success. I know my success as Moose Legion Chairman would not have been possible had it not been for each and every one of you who stepped up and were there when I needed you! For all of this I say thank you! Our next fish fry is scheduled for November 16 th with the Moose Legion meeting to immediately follow. This month s fundraiser will go toward lodge improvements and the building fund. Due to this month s planned events we will not be having our covered dish dinner that evening. If anyone can think of a worthwhile charity that you would like to discuss our possibly helping next year, please let me know. 8 NEWS FROM YOUR PRELATE: Hello everyone, Well the cold weather is just around the corner and people are starting to get their flu shot. Me personally, I have never been crazy about having someone poking me with a needle for the purpose of injecting a virus into my body. I have received information that several of our members need our continued thoughts and prayers during their time of treatment and recovery. 15 MOOSE LEGION MOOSE GO THE DISTANCE MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCEMENT The Moose Legion has announced a membership program for the campaign year (May 1, 2013 to April 30, 2014). Sponsors of Moose Legion applicants will be recognized for BUILDING MEMBERSHIP in the Degree of Service. The theme for this year s program is: MOOSE GO THE DISTANCE We are excited to be bringing you this program. Lets spread the word. Promotion and Teamwork will make it a success. We will offer a Distinctive MOOSE LEGION LAPEL PIN for sponsoring your first member and if you sponsor and enroll two members there is FREE DUES FOR THE SPONSOR and even an award (a ten dollar ($10) Gift Certificate to Catalog Sales) for the LIFE MEMBERS who do not annually renew. We will have a continuation of credits in the Medal of Honor and the Elite Ring programs as well as other special awards that will include an invitation to the International Moose 25 Club Party for qualified Medal of Honor members. As began in 2012 at Tampa, we have something for our Super Sponsors of 25 or more applications with an invite to the Circle / Heart / Moose Legionnaire of Distinction event at the Las Vegas convention! Centennial Special from June 1, 2013 to June 30, All applicants into any jurisdiction will have the opportunity to advance their membership for just a ten dollar dues payment. That is right no application fees and just for the Centennial period applicants can join for just a ten dollar dues amount.
