3 What is Relay For Life? Relay For Life is a fun and moving 24 hour (overnight) experience that raises vital funds for Cancer Council s research, prevention and support services

8 Local History Started in 2002 at the Albury Showgrounds; with 375 participants and raised $60, 561 Last year Border had over 2,800 participants and raised $417, Border Relay For Life remained the biggest fundraising relay in Australia in terms of dollars and the biggest relay in NSW, for participants numbers.

Where does the money go? Research Each year CCNSW invests approximately $15 million into world class research that covers all areas of all types of cancers.

Prevention Reducing cancer in the community by encouraging people to lead healthy, cancersmart lifestyles. Advocacy Ensuring governments take action to reduce cancer risk and improve access to care and treatment. Information and Support Empower and support people affected by cancer, so that no one need face cancer alone.

10 Where does the money go? Transport 2 Treatment program launched on the Border in August 2016 and has made over 650 trips all around our region, supporting 350 local cancer patients. Legal and Financial Services (Pro Bono Program) over 1,000 families have been assisted across NSW, equating to approximately $2.2m in support. It s an obstacle course of sorts. First one to dash across the finish line will be crowned the 2017 Genesis Challenge Winner!
