Page 12 Working at Iowa Survey Shows Satisfaction among College of Dentistry Employees The results from the 2012 Working At Iowa survey show high levels of job satisfaction within the College of Dentistry. In fact, in 11 of the 20 survey questions, the percentage of positive responses (all strongly agree, agree, and slightly agree responses) was higher in the College of Dentistry than the University as a whole. Almost 75% of eligible College of Dentistry faculty and staff participated in the survey, surpassing the UI participation rate of 67%. Thank you, College of Dentistry, for contributing to such a successful effort from within our College. Highlights from CoD results include: 87 percent feel, that given the opportunity, they would tell other people great things about working in their units (UI: 84%). 84 percent feel their units provide support to help faculty/staff balance work and personal life responsibilities (UI: 78%). 81 percent said the University does a good job of recognizing the accomplishments of faculty/staff (UI: 76%). 74 percent of faculty and staff feel workloads are distributed fairly in their units (UI: 72%). 74 percent feel work-related conflicts are managed constructively in their units (UI: 73%). The University Report is now available for your review and consideration and can be found at http://www.uiowa.edu/hr/working/. The College of Dentistry Report is also available for your review and can be found on the IntraDent (go to Services, Dental Human Resources, 2012 Working At Iowa Survey Results, College of Dentistry). Both university-level and College of Dentistry reports provide responses to all survey items by faculty and staff, both combined and broken out by employee group (faculty, professional and scientific, merit). In addition, seven survey items are examined for a trend analysis using 2006 and 2008 survey data.
