2 Program The 2015 Update in General Practice continuing education program will mark the 28th annual AEGD sponsored program. This year s program will offer a concise and systematic synopsis of the current trends in general dentistry based on evidence from clinical practice and recent research. This program has been specifically designed for the dental professional who desires a comprehensive update of current technologies, techniques to diagnose and manage various clinical problems. The latest information on identifying and managing the human papilloma virus and related lesions will be presented. A good portion of the program will be directed towards identifying and managing current medical conditions impacting the dental treatment provided by the general practitioner. The current guidelines on diagnosing Temporomandibular Disorders and current recommended concepts of treating chronic pain patients will be presented. The continuing high population of edentulous patients will be addressed through presentations on diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of edentulous patient with implant supported restorations. There will be a presentation to learn what drug seeking patients are currently seeking and how to manage these patients. An outstanding line-up of faculty from various dental specialty areas and with extensive knowledge and training will deliver presentations in these areas. Presentations will focus on clinical treatment planning, patient management, treatment concepts and techniques. The course will take place over 2 days and provide up to 15 hours of continuing education credit and should meet the NC License renewal CE requirements. Presentations are in lecture format with a 15-minute discussion period following each presentation, which will allow you to ask questions and personalize information gained from each topic.
