For additional information, go to College of Dentistry Bathrooms Undergo Renovation The College of Dentistry bathrooms on the second, third, and fourth floors of the south building have been undergoing renovation for the past six months. So far, 10 bathrooms on these floors have been completed. The renovation includes abating the old bathroom flooring, which contains asbestos, and replacing it with new floor covering; repairing damaged walls; painting bathroom partitions; updating the toilets with sensor activated automatic flush valves; and replacing old hand dryers with energy efficient Dyson hand dryers that dry hands faster, and use up to 80% less energy than traditional hand dryers. This project was made possible by Ron Thomae, shop services manager, and Facilities Management providing the labor, and the College of Dentistry purchasing the flooring material and hand dryers. In a spirit of cooperation, the project provided a much-needed face lift for the College of Dentistry without creating an overwhelming financial burden for the college or Facilities Management. The third floor southwest men and women s restrooms will also be renovated in the near future, in conjunction with the new remodel project. Pictured above with one of the new Dyson Airblade hand dryers is Michelle Hermann, Pediatric Dentistry.
