1 DSB WEEKLY NO. 845 March 13, 2009 Dr. Steve Aquilino Receives AAFP George H. Moulton Award Dr. Steve Aquilino, Department of Prosthodontics, received the 2009 George H. Moulton Award from the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (AAFP) during its annual meeting, which was held recently in Chicago. The Moulton Award recognizes members who have made a significant impact and contribution to the art and science of fixed prosthodontics and have demonstrated lifetime service to the field. This prestigious award is the highest honor bestowed by the Academy. Recipients are nominated by members and chosen by a standing committee of the Academy. The award is named for Dr. George H. Moulton, one of the visionary founders of the Academy, its first secretary and sixth p and the first recipient of this award. Lend a Hand to a Co-Worker Jennifer Chalupa, a clinic clerk in Operative Dentistry, has exhausted her sick leave and vacation time due to a ongoing health condition and recovery period. Anyone wishing to help Jennifer by contributing vacation time may pick up a catastrophic leave donation form from Mary Yoder (S 229), Becky Todd (S 250), or by going to benefits/forms/contrib.pdf. Once the form is completed, please send it to the Benefits Office, USB. Any contributions of one hour or more on Jennifer s behalf are welcome and will be truly appreciated. RefWorks Instruction March 31, 2009 RefWorks is a Web-based citation management and bibliography tool. It can help you to efficiently store, organize, and share citations and easily format them for papers and bibliographies. Jonathan Koffel, Hardin Library, will hold a RefWorks workshop on March 31, 2009, from noon-1pm, in the Oral B classroom. Everyone is invited to attend. Pizza and pop will be provided. Dr. Warren is Lacey s mentor. 56 th Annual Meeting of the Iowa Section of the AADR Held March 3, 2009 The 56 th Annual Meeting of the Iowa Section of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) was held March 3, The local research day events included a keynote address, Delivering Health Care in Developing Countries, by Dr. John Canady, UI Department of Otolaryngology. Following Dr. Canady, Dean David Johnsen addressed the attendees. Forty-two students, staff and faculty presented poster, oral and table clinic presentations. The winners were announced during the awards banquet dinner, which was held at the Coralville Holiday Inn.
