2 Page 2 Prosthodontics Luncheon continued from 1 (Above): Oleksandr Grechko (DDS 15) received the Ralph C. Appleby Removable Prosthodontics Award from Dr. James Clancy. The award is given to a student who shows outstanding performance in clinical removable prosthodontics and honors Dr. Appleby, a former chair of the Department of Removable Prosthodontics. Orhan Suljic (DDS 15) received the Keith E. Thayer Fixed Prosthodontics Award from Dr. Thayer. This award was established in honor of Dr. Thayer, a former chair of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics. (Above): Hannah Hutchison (DDS 15) received the Dr. Dan Steele Memorial Scholarship Fund from Dr. James Clancy. (Above): Justin Anderson (DDS 15) received the American College of Prosthodontists Award from Dr. James Clancy for his high academic and clinical proficiency in prosthodontics. Collin Petoskey (DDS 15) received the American Equilibration Society Award from Dr. Lawrence Huber for his outstanding performance in the science of occlusion and TMJ function. College of Dentistry Ambassador Kelli Purkapile, a dental assistant in the Special Care Clinic and Geriatric Mobile Dental Unit, was honored recently as Collegiate Ambassador for her outstanding work. Besides her primary responsibilities as a dental assistant, she also handles paperwork, communicates with nursing home residents, family caregivers, directors of nursing, and administrators. Her professionalism, efficiency and kindness make her a perfect ambassador for the College of Dentistry.
