3 CORTE BELLA PULSE SEPTEMBER 2010 PAGE 3 Fitness: The basics Protein consumption is vital. Reminder: your daily protein intake cannot be absolved with one daily serving. Protein must be consumed every few hours all day, every day. Keep the diet clean. The axiom you are what you eat rings true. However, if you find some cheat foods harder to avoid than others, eat them in the morning hours, when your body is more forgiving. Weight training should be done as a supplement to cardiovascular work. The two achieve two different results; with both being extremely effective. Train all muscle groups, not just your favorites. Success comes not merely from time spent in the gym, but from the quality of the workout. Train intensely, stay focused, and limit breaks between exercises. Results directly reflect the amount of hard work put in. An adequate amount of sleep is required (depending on the individual 6-8 hours should suffice). Sore muscles repair themselves during hours spent away from the gym. The secret to success cannot be found in the latest issue of a fitness magazine. Rather, it is found in consistently putting forth the effort. Period. Lastly, if a question comes to mind ask it!

A true success story, Jodell Dodge started exercising one day by joining a Jazzercise class several years ago. Soon after the classes yielded tremendous results, she began attending Tae Bo classes regularly. Today, Jodell eats, sleeps, and breathes fitness. She has stepped on stage in fitness competitions and has taken first place time and time again. However, her body isn t the only one that has benefited from her deep-rooted passion for fitness. A wildly popular group fitness instructor, Jodell is equal parts coach and cheerleader. She is energetic. She is knowledgeable. She is a fitness success story. So It is with great pride and heightened anticipation that we announce the addition of Jodell Dodge to our fitness team. On teaching at Corte Bella, Jodell says: I really enjoy being able to provide a quality, fun, energetic class. I get great pleasure when I am able to help people. I always make every member feel comfortable whatever their fitness level is. Certified in group fitness instruction and in personal training, Jodell demonstrates great leadership in both fields of fitness. She is available for personal training and teaches three classes during the week; Total Body Conditioning, 40-Minute Cardio Insanity, and Boot Camp. There is no limit to the amount of classes that can be taken, nor is there is there a limit on which classes can be taken. Note: All blue specialty cards expire Oct. 1; green cards can still be used. Should a balance remain on blue cards, see David Jolovitz for class vouchers. New Classes. New Instructors. Check the September Class Schedule. Many exciting new class formats and instructors have been added. Fitness Class Price Changes. Corte Bella is trimming some fat off of its fitness class prices. Effective October 1, specialty class prices will be reduced from $5 to $3, while $2 classes will remain unchanged. See below for series card information. Series Cards. Green cards with 10--$2 classes remain at $15, and will continue to provide a savings of $5. 10-class specialty cards will no longer cost $40, but $25 a 37.5% reduction! Those classes affected by the price change are: Zumba, PiYo, and Yoga.

BREAK-A-SWEAT: Upper and lower body toning through a series of intervals incorporating balance and strength training. CARDIO CIRCUIT: Burn those calories and tone your entire body in this high intensity (with lower impact options) cardio and strengthening class. WEIGHTS 101: This class introduces you to the wonders of resistance training with abdominal and oblique work spliced into the mix. PI-YO: Integrates Pilates and yoga into a single class. Exercises are performed while seated, standing, supine, prone, and side-lying. Each class offers modifications so beginners and advanced participants are successfully challenged in each session. RECOVERY YOGA: Unwind stress and prevent injuries with this beginning supportive movement class that will increase flexibility and decrease inflammation.
