2 Continuing Education This program is not yet approved for CME credit so we are required to notify you that the total number of approved credits are yet to be determined. However, an outline of the anticipated credits is provided below. The application for CME will be submitted in early August. Notification of approval is anticipated in early September and will be posted on the SCAPA website when received. While we do not anticpate any problems with receiving approval as outlined, full refunds will be provided upong request should approval not be obtained. PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS ANTS Conference organizers plan to request 50 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit from the Physician Assistant Review Panel: 24 hours through regular program lectures and 26 hours through workshops with the maximum earnable credit for any single attendee being 39 hours. NURSE PRACTITIONERS As an AAPA approved program, this conference will be accepted as continuing education units for nursing. PHARMACOL COLOG OGY This program includes 13 hours of pharmacology ( ) and 4 hours of controlled substance ( ). ATHLETIC TRAINERS SCAPA is an approved CE provider for NATABOC. About the Program Scheduled around Columbus Day weekend, the SCAPA Fall conference is the perfect opportunity to vacation at one of the nation s premier destinations while avoiding the crowds, heat, and humidity of summer. With average highs in the 70 s, lows in the 60 s, and the Gulf Stream still comfortable, earning CME credit has never been more enjoyable. The SCAPA program features great speakers, who will present 24 hours of continuing medical education, covering the full spectrum of medical specialties perfect for primary care, specialty, certifying or recertifying PAs and NPs. Donated supplies will be collected during the conference and distributed to underserved communities throughout the state. Second, attendees will have the opportunity to paint a mural during the conference that will be donated to a local hospital. We hope you will join us by participating in these efforts.

4 Location and Accommodations CONFERENCE LOCATION: The conference will be held in the Sweetgrass Pavilion on Wild Dunes Resort, located at 5803 Palmetto Drive, Isle of Palms, SC The resort can be reached at or Visit for more information. ROOM BLOCK: Wild Dunes offers a wide variety of accommodations from hotel rooms to suites to villas to beach houses. The SCAPA room block consists of hotel-type rooms in the Boardwalk Inn and the Village at Wild Dunes at a rate of $180, which is subject to 12.5% tax, 9% resort fee, $9 amenity fee, and $1 destination marketing fee. Rooms have been blocked for the nights of Saturday (Oct 12), Sunday (Oct 13), Monday (Oct 14), Tuesday (Oct 15), and Wednesday (Oct 16). The conference rate is also available for the two nights preceding Saturday and the two nights following Wednesday, but these additional nights are based on availability and cannot be booked using the online reservations method. If you are planning to arrive before Saturday, stay past Thursday, or if you want to inquire about other types of accommodations, you should make your reservations as soon as possible by calling the 800 reservations number and speaking to a Wild Dunes representative.
