1 January / February 2017 Newsletter Cremona FCSS Newsletter in Cooperation with the Village of Cremona fcss@cremoma.ca A Huge Thank You from the Cremona Winterfest Committee To Cremona 4-H for running Santa s Workshop, Santa for taking the time to visit the children at Santa s Workshop, KC foods for contributing to the hot chocolate stands, Howard McLean for his fire pit, Alia McCracken & Tia Calvin for all their help in the Kids Zone, Jessica Hughes for kid zone prize donations, all of our vendors, and to the volunteers that worked so hard putting it all together. The waitlist has been started for December 2017 s sale. If you wish to be added to our list please send an to jthompson@cremona.ca include what you make to sell and your phone number. Please note that Winterfest is a Craft and Artisan sale, items must be homemade. Cremona 4-H Club is hosting a bottle & battery drive for the month of January We are collecting used batteries (car/truck/ag type, not single household cell batteries). If you have bottles or batteries you d like to donate, please call or leader@cremona4hclub.com. Used battery collection will be until approx. April 30.
2 Cremona Community Hall News and Events The Annual Meeting and election of officers for the Cremona Hall Society will be January 16th 2017 at 7:30 pm. We welcome new members and appreciate input from the community in support of our Hall. The Hall has had a busy year as the addition of our video system and screen becomes more popular for meetings and presentations. This past year we had several successful musical entertainments and welcome "Cod Gone Wild" for our April 7th show. Get your tickets early for an evening of lively Celtic music and fun. For information on Hall rental or tickets Call Mary Parkhills Women s Guild The Parkhills Women's Guild wish to thank our patrons at our Bake table at Winterfest in Cremona. Your generosity helped us to donate to several local charities this season. Our group of ladies meet the second Tuesday of the month and welcome guests to attend. For more information about our group call Mary at Cremona, Water Valley and District Chamber of Commerce We are planning a Trade Fair in Cremona. If you would be interested in a table please contact Don doncarveth@gmail.com We are also hosting an Open House to meet with local area business people and looking to invigorate the business environment. 7 pm Thursday January 19th at the Cremona Legion. Special recognition to our secret shoppers, wrappers and everyone that contributed in their own special way! We are fortunate to live in this community! Are you experiencing other challenges in your life while you try to raise your young family? If you answered yes to any of these questions you may be eligible for the Healthy Families Home Visitation Program. Our trained home visitors can visit you in your home; assist with parenting and child development strategies. We can also help you to manage other family needs and issues that impact your ability to be the parent you want to be. We will provide support and guidance all in a non-judgemental way. Our program is free. We serve Didsbury, Carstairs, Cremona, Three Hills, Drumheller, Hanna, Strathmore and surrounding rural areas. Every participant will get to make their own batch of full fat fermented whipping cream.
