1 Lemon Grove Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1713 Happy! Governor's Desk As we move forward in this year of our Lodge, you may see some changes going on. Please know we are looking out for the best interest of our Lodge and our members. With that being said, we will go through some growing pains as we do with all new Boards, and together we will continue to add value to your experience as a Moose Member. If you have any questions or concerns, please come to our meetings, and voice your concerns or ideas. Meetings are at 7 PM on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. In the mean time, have a Happy and Safe 4 th Holiday! To his family and friends we send our sincere condolences Patty Magoon has broken her wrist, we send her all our positive thoughts for a speedy recovery. We also want to continually keep Chris Welch in our thoughts and prayers. Jan Bankhead passed away in May. 2 Administrator's Message Hello my Fellow Moose Brothers and Co-Workers, After my first month as your Administrator, I must say that we have a lot of great Volunteers who keep this Lodge prospering. From the Board of Officers, to the bartenders, to the kitchen crews. Also to Barbara Minich and Jody Kravtiz, who put together this Newsletter. AND lest we not forget our members who pick up a broom once in a while, bus tables, get ice, or clean our bathrooms. To all of you our grateful THANKS and APPRECIATION!! Last and also important are all our members who attend meetings, participate in our functions and support our meals during the week. Without members, volunteers, and our LOOM & WOTM Board of Officers our Lodge would cease to exist. I would also like to thank Ron Woods for making my transition into being Administrator so smooth. Ron has dedicated a lot of time and energy into this great Lodge the past two years, and I commend him for that. I will put forth my very best effort to do the same. I am Chairman of the Special Olympics District Wide, and on 21st there will be an Annual Bowling Competition held at El Cajon Bowl. We are looking for volunteers for this event. Usually each Lodge in our District provides someone to help the athletes bowl. There are three volunteers per lane. If interested in helping, please drop me a line to my bigalheavener3@gmail.com. There is also Annual Regional Fall Games in October if you can't make this one. More information to follow. One of my plans for mid-summer is to have a Moose Town Hall Meeting. If you have any ideas or complaints that you would like discussed, this will be the place to be. You can write them down and put them in the Suggestion Box (located in the Social Quarters by the front door) and/or just attend the meeting. It will be an open forum. 4 From Our Senior Regent Co-Workers, I want to give a big Thank You to all the ladies who volunteered for our Father's Day Breakfast. It was a huge success. This month on Saturday, 7th, we need some help cleaning and organizing our Conex Box. This is the storage section we have all of our decorations for all the different events we host throughout the year. We will be starting at 10 AM and work through until we are done. The more volunteers we have, the sooner we can finish. 's Committee is Activities/Sports. DeeDee will be hosting a 50/50 Opportunity Raffle during her Tailgating Themed Dinner on the 13th. Make sure to wear your favorite team Jersey/Shirt or Hat on Friday the 13th. She is making Hot Wings, Sweet and Sour Meatballs, Nachos, Sloppy Joe Sliders and more.
