2 Department News CAPTE On Friday, March 11th, 2016, the CAPTE Task Force successfully submitted the Self-Study report to the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). CAPTE is the accrediting agency that is nationally recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). CAPTE grants specialized accreditation status to qualified entry-level education programs for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. A special THANK YOU goes out to everyone who helped get this document ready for submission. The CAPTE Task Force (some members are pictured below) consisted of Jeff Hawk, Karen Sack, Monica Martinez, Deidra Stevens, Dylan Dunne, Laurie Neely, Donna Bethke, Vinny Conroy and Aynsley Hamel. Some of the "honorary members" who contributed to some major projects along the way included Angel Chavez, Linda Horn and Karen Gordes. The Self-Study report was step one in a two step process. A site visit is scheduled in June, 2016 and preparations are already underway! 2

All donors will receive a $5 coupon to any of the hospital eateries and a chance to win other special giveaways.
