3 Community Access Services assists adults with a developmental disability to explore their interests and dreams. We connect individuals to activities in the community, based on suitability and choices, in the area of voluntarism, leisure, recreation and life-long learning. 4 Taste Bud Travellers We will be exploring a variety of cuisines from a variety of countries, and learning about each country as well. Come with your appetite and curiosity! Join one of London s finest trainers, Gaby Copeland as she shows us some low impact cardiovascular exercises combined with muscle conditioning and toning. 6 Bocce Ball Red vs Blue this game is for you! Join us for a fun afternoon of Bocce Ball. 8 Lunch Club Back by popular demand! Come participate in our lunch club. Each week we will make a delicious meal to enjoy. 4 spots available FEE: $50 per session 1. 9 Walking Stick Includes creating a walking stick that can be used for a lifetime. Walking throughout the trails in London. Learn survival skills when walking in the woods. 8 spots available FEE: $15 Ford Access 10-11:30 March 27 June 12 CLAP with Claire This is a musical class that is guaranteed to get your toes tapping and hands clapping. We will explore music and songs from around the world, as well as get our muscles warmed up with games that get us active and smiling! During each class we will use instruments, props and our voices to practice problem solving skills, gross motor skills, fine motor skills and cooperation. 10 Open Gym Open Gym is a place to come and get your exercise in and burn off some energy. One side of the gym is dedicated to an organized sport each week. The other half of the gym is dedicated to shooting hoops, walking laps or kicking a ball around! 15 Line Dancing Join us for a morning of fun, friendship and fitness in LINE DANCING! This class is for beginners who would like to learn the basic steps and linking those steps together to form the dance. FEE:$55 Adelaide Access 10:00-11:00 March 30 June 15 There is no class March 30 due to Good Friday. Sing with Strings Do you like to sing? Do you want to learn an instrument? Now is your chance! Come learn to play the Ukulele! Each class will include a 30 minute lesson, 20 minute practice and 20 minute sing along. 16 Glee Club If you enjoy singing in a group-both pop songs and more traditional songs-then Glee Club is for you! Garden Club This program will focus on blue printing a garden for our Ford backyard. Crafts for outdoors. These will include: wind chimes, bird houses, and naming stakes. 18 Extended Time Available Community Living London offers Extended Time for our Access Extra programs. You can add hours to the programs that we are offering in the Access Extra. In order to purchase Extended Time, you must register for the program at that location before and/or after the program time. The extended time will be offered at the following locations: 1. Ford Access 25 Ford Cres. 2. Adelaide Access 190 Adelaide St. S. 3. The Hub 523 South Street Eligibility is the same as class registration; you must be able to participate with no additional support. Extra support is not available during Extended Time. No structured activities will be available during Extended Time but there will be casual activities available for use. The cost for Extended Time will be $ 7.00 per hour For example: On Wednesday Healing Tones runs from 10am-11am. You can purchase extended time before or after the program as long as you are registered in the program. A person can pay for the service and add an hour to Healing Tones and come at 9am. This person will then pay $7.00 X 12 weeks. 20 All payments for all classes MUST be paid to the instructor on the FIRST DAY of class. There will be no concessions made for people who are only seeing if they are interested in a program. This may include speaking, writing, or the ability to understand others when communicating. How our Service works: A referral form is completed and submitted to Community Living London. 23 A safe and supported sensory environment What is Snoezelen? Snoezelen is an environment where primary senses can be stimulated by combinations of soft music, lighting effects, gentle vibrations, touch, hydrotherapy and aromatherby. Snoezelen therapy helps children, adults and seniors overcome physical and emotional barriers. Community Living London offers two types of Snoezelen, the dry room and the wet room. Who is it for? People who experience Snoezelen range from infants to the elderly with vast range of abilities and needs. We focus on offering Snoezelen for anyone with a therapeutic need. How can you access our Snoezelen Rooms? Training is provided and mandatory for the use of these rooms. Once trained, people are able to book the Snoezelen space. We have a fee per visit, as well as yearly membership to be purchased. 24 Participants must be 45 years or older to participate in the following activities. We are encouraging people to purchase a membership from Horton Street Seniors Centre at a cost of $70 per year. If a membership is not purchased a $3 per week drop in fee will need to be paid each week to the Horton Street Seniors Centre when you attend your registered activity. Please be mindful that the annual membership and or weekly drop in fee, is on top of the cost of the program you are registering for. The benefits of having a membership is the availability to use other resources at Horton Street Seniors Centre, including the pool, exercise classes and much more.
