Ths invstigations intifi ight aras containing Aboriginal cultural hritag, consisting of fiv artfact scattrs an thr isolat artfacts (Alfrson 1987). All rcor sits wr foun within 300 m of cr lins, with th largst artfact scattr locat on a highr lanform ovrlooking th hawatrs of a major cr lin (Alfrson 1987). Som hsitation was xprss in th intification of many ston flaks as Aboriginal in origin, an conclu that th limit prsnc of clar artfact matrial was rlat to th gnral lack of local rsourcs (.g. fauna, flora, watr) (Alfrson 1987). In 1988 an archaological survy was unrtakn of th propos Blyano Gol min proprty, locat on a larg quartz outcrop approximatly 10 km south ast of chainag 280 km on th NGBR Projct (Alfrson 1988). Th survy rval only thr probabl Aboriginal ston artfacts, all of which wr quartz flaks, a raw matrial notoriously ifficult to attribut to human activity. It was not that positiv intification of such matrial as artfacts is oftn ubious an, taking into account th xtnt of groun surfac isturbanc u to scrub pulling an th installation of th powr lin, a consrvativ approach was aopt in this survy (Alfrson 1988).
