6 Problm/Opportunity Statmnt Th rivr that flows through London s downtown has many nams: Dshkan Ziibiing (known to th Anishnaabg and Lnap of th Grat Laks); Kahwyˆhatati (ONYOTA:KA); and, Th Thams (John Gravs Simco). This rivr is both our inhritanc and our living lgacy. It is our collctiv rsponsibility to maintain and nhanc this shard natural, cultural rcrational and asthtic rsourc. Th On Rivr Mastr Plan Environmntal Assssmnt will considr th ara historically influncd by th Springbank Dam and will provid a plan that coordinats critical infrastructur projcts in ways that improv th ovrall halth of th rivr, idntifis and crats an undrstanding of potntial impacts ths projcts may hav on downstram communitis, spcis at risk and/or ndangrd spcis and whr possibl avoids thm and rspcts th vision of Back to th Rivr s Th Ribbon of th Thams concpt plan. 8 Thams Rivr Status and Vision Th Springbank Dam is not oprating and th rivr is flowing frly. Th rivr is changing, with mor divrs habitat availabl for both nativ and non-nativ plant spcis and th Spcis at Risk (SAR) prsnt. Th Thams Vally Corridor Plan and Th London Plan both promot th nhancmnt of th Rivr Corridor as an important rsourc in th city. Back to th Rivr was a dsign comptition initiativ to rvitaliz th Thams Rivr.

Estimatd cost is btwn $1 million and $4 million.
