2 LSU s 43rd Annual Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Review Course With NEW Case Format Emphasis Saturday - Thursday, - November 5-10, 2016 The LSU OMS Review Course is a live educational activity designed specifically for oral and maxillofacial surgery practitioners and residents who desire a comprehensive review that focuses on all phases of oral and maxillofacial surgery. It emphasizes critical areas of surgery with scientific support and prepares surgeons and residents for specialty examinations. All lectures stress the techniques used and the scientific justifications for those techniques. This educational activity was developed based on previous course evaluations, input from course leaders and advisory committee, and a review of current issues and needs in the fields of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Learning Objectives include potential improvement in all areas of OMS practice, identification of knowledge and treatment goal deficiencies, assistance in educational study habits for examinations, recognition of performance needs and outcomes in patient care, understand a wide variety of diagnostic parameters and surgical treatment options for more efficient, improved/safe patient care, and change treatment goals as a result of speaker s presentations and patient outcomes. All topics are heavy with NEW Case Format Presentations to mimic the educational style of resident quizzing on rounds and during conferences and oral examinations. This is accomplished through interactive discussions between two faculty on each topic. Some factual didactic information normally given during lectures, as presented in past LSU courses, will be provided only on USB flash drives to all attendees rather than during lecture time. All cases and all pertinent factual information presented by speakers will also be found on the flash drives. Lecture time and total course time is therefore reduced. Go Online or Toll-Free to Book Your Hotel The New Orleans Downtown Marriott at the Convention Center will be hosting the LSU OMS Review Course again for We strongly recommend that you make your travel arrangements and hotel reservations as early as possible as the Course falls over Halloween weekend, which is a very in-demand time in New Orleans. You can book your room either online at or toll-free at You will have until October 17, 2016 to receive the special rate of $179 per night. After October 17th, any additional rooms will be based on availability and offered at the current selling rate, so be sure to book your special rate before it expires! Housed in a renovated 19th century cotton mill, the Marriott hotel in New Orleans near the convention center boasts over 300 spacious rooms & suites, offering guests a refreshing night of rest.
