Complimentary Caregiver Meal Tray If your membership is current and you will be an in-patient at the hospital, please tell the ad- missions clerk so that your status will be on the census report. Your spouse or caregiver will be eligible to receive complimentary meals delivered to your room. Phone a Friend Live alone? Have a friend or two that you could arrange for a safety call? It s important for those living alone to make contact at least once a day with someone just to let them know you re all right. Welcome 2017! Message from your Director, Mary: Our new Senior Circle Office As I have always heard, over time, some things change and some things stay the same. I am happy to announce that my office has moved and I am now located in the SBRMC Sleep Center building which is located at 1709 Bunner Street, in Foley. I have posted a photo of our new location and you can find it by taking the Emergency Room entrance off Hwy 59, follow it to the end of the street, turn to the right on to Bunner St. and see the Building, 2 offices down on the left. I work back and forth at the hospital each day, so if you need to see me in the office, I suggest calling and leaving me a message as to what time you would like to stop by and I can confirm the time to meet you at the new location. Our Senior Circle still offers the full services we have offered in the past and being in the same location, as most of our events, will be convenient in many ways. Our Senior Circle Ambassadors have been helping me for over 5 years and are always ready step in when I call for help. They have been busy assisting with the new office transition and we all enjoy working together on our events and trips. I want to take this time to thank each of them for all their hard work which benefits all our Senior Circle Members. Together, we wish everyone a blessed and healthy 2017 and look forward to you staying active with us. Do you like to volunteer? 2 P A G E 2 NEW LOCATION For Lunch & Learn Plus our Class Lunch & Learn Every month we host our monthly educational luncheon at our which is located 2 buildings north of the Emergency Room entrance. at We enjoy a variety of medical, community and topics that are of interest to age 50+. It is necessary for you to to for this event so we may plan for our seating and the lunch. Every Wednesday at 10 AM for current SC members at $1 per class. What a great way to spend 40 minutes in a chair - stretching, toning, and using breathing techniques to relax and help clear your mind while strengthening your heart and muscles. Make plans to join us at the Lobby located at 1709 Bunner Street, Foley. You will need the safety forms filled out prior to taking the class, so call to let us know you would like to get energized by chairzercise. Senior Circle Fitness Programs require two forms to be filled out in our office before you are cleared for the special programs. Please call the office at if you have questions. Club: Meet with other Senior Circle members and follow the path to good health as you walk at the Tanger Outlet Mall. Remember to log your hours at the outlet s main office, so each quarter we can recognize our Walking Club with a breakfast meeting and draw for Tanger gift cards provided by Senior Circle. Walking must be done at Tanger to be eligible for the prizes. What a nice way to enjoy free exercise and shopping benefits at the same time. Remember, it pays to walk at Tanger Outlet Mall. Classes: YMCA: Monday, Wednesday and Friday class is offered at 11:00 AM for the Twinges & Hinges class which is geared to those having arthritis or sore muscles. Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 AM is the Combo Class. You purchase a $10 punch card by check or credit card at the YMCA membership office and they will deduct $2 off the card for each class. Classes are approximately 45 minutes long and are subject to change according to the number of participants or availability of instructor. Hot Tub use is available for full YMCA members only. For most of the months, Birthday Bingo with cake is celebrated on the first Thursday of each month. There is no cost for our Bingo and useable prizes are provided for the winners. In hospital CAREGIVER MEAL BENEFIT: If you are planning to have in-patient surgery or find yourself a patient in our facility, we have a great caregiver meal benefit that would provide the person sitting with you a meal tray for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Senior Circle membership for $15 annually is happy to provide this benefit when the patient is a member of our group. Senior Circle appreciates the safety a caregiver brings to the patient when another person is sitting with them in the room. Most average meals cost approximately $4 or more in the cafeteria, so with the patient membership you have more than recouped your $15 cost after receiving 4 or more meal trays. Think about the savings and the convenience having your caregiver s meals delivered to the room. Annual Anniversary Celebration January 19the at 6PM is necessary. Our annual Senior Circle Celebration is scheduled for Thursday, January 19th, 6PM, at the Foley Civic Center.
