Luckily they stayed far away from us. With the summer season finally here we can start using our outdoor area for BBQ s and other functions. Don t be surprised to see the grill get fired up for no particular reason and a round of burgers and dogs flying in the door. Of course we have planned outdoor events coming too. The Family Outing is an obvious one but we re also continuing on the success of last year s Christmas in July party. A few words about the outing are in order. First of all, only members in good standing will be admitted. This rule has always been in effect and yet I m amazed every year when people show up with expired cards or no card at all. Please pay your dues or renew your membership in advance so you and your family can enjoy one of the most fun filled days of the year. We ve had a pretty good run with our Outing over the last few years and that s due to the continuing efforts of volunteers. Thank you in advance for your upcoming efforts. Please keep in mind we are a Family Center. There will be kids running around everywhere, of all ages, be mindful of them around hot BBQ grills and activity hotspots like the Waterslide and Bouncy House. Let them enjoy but let s keep them safe. As I ve mentioned in the past few newsletters our lodge is still undergoing improvements and changes. Most recently some major kitchen redesign, new mulch laid down around the parking lot, and the hood was removed from the bar area to open up that space. We ve also started repairs to our social quarters roof to eliminate future leaks. There s so much going on at the lodge right now. The kitchen renovations included not only a major clean-up but new menus items like pizza and potato skins. Last week there was a $10 prime rib dinner, try to find a deal like that at any restaurant! We re working very hard here at the lodge and it s all for you. Please stop by and see for yourself. You won t be disappointed. Tom OConnor Governor, Braintree 413 For All You Do!

We start the month off in Nashville for the 2015 International Moose Convention. Our Chapter is very proud to have 2 of our Co-Workers receiving degrees. Congratulations to Deb Deery who will receive her College of Regent and Jacqueline Robash receiving her Star Recorder. Over the years both co-workers have been a key influence to our chapter. Each showing all of us what it is to be a part of WOTM. Reminding us that nobody can achieve what we do alone, it takes a team effort. I am very fortunate to have a great team of Co-Workers. Nobody was more proud of our chapter than I was this past Sunday for Father s Day. A big THANK YOU to all the members that pulled together to make the event a great success. Let s not forget the s for Cancer Tournament, Trivia, WOTM Breakfast and cooking for Duck Races. All done by WOTM Co- Workers; me at rsousa731@msn.com and join in on the FUN!! Please keep in mind that due to Nashville; Trivia is Saturday July 11 th, WOTM Breakfast the 12 th and our Chapter meeting is the 13 th. Don t forget to join us for the Family Outing on July 18 th. Bring the kids down, we ll have games, water slide, bouncy house, face painting, food and much, much, more! Our famous Moose Races on the 24 th and of course Christmas in July on the 25 th. Our Co-Worker of the month is Karen Hendrickson. Karen has been a great support not only to WOTM but to our Lodge. 4 Page 4 July 2015 MOOSE LEGION REPORT Braintree Moose Legion Committee July 2015 Happy Independence Day, As this goes to print our Delegation is arriving in Nashville for the International Convention. Thank You to all who volunteered and made our Final Duck Tour a time to remember. July is going to be very active as well, including a July 4th BBQ, our Family Outing., and a Christmas in July party. There's also a Minute Men 28 Electronics Raffle from the State (tickets $5 each or 3/$10). To all who will be helping at the Outing Thank You. We have some Tommy Moose we'll be selling at the Outing and I have some key chains from the Duck Races that I'm selling for Mooseheart and Moosehaven for a very modest 2/$1. price. Everything raised will be divided between Mooseheart and Moosehaven. We ordered Coloring Books which we hope to have available at the Family Outing as well. The HEART of any Moose Family Center is it's Moose Legion Committee. They are leaders and folks who help get things done. Please try to attend our monthly meetings and functions whenever possible. Our next project is to replace burned out lighting in both the Social Quarters and Hall. This will add to the improvements your Moose Legion Committee has made to our Home over the past few years. In order to accomplish our goals and fund projects we need your participation. Legion membership also offers the Degree Of Service, the stepping stone to the Fellowship & Pilgrim degrees. Our next few meetings are: July 5, Aug 2, and on Sept 13 (due to Labor Day ), always at 10AM on Sunday. Hope to see you there! 5 Page 5 A Message from the Administrator Hello Brothers and Co-Workers, Summer is finally upon us! The weather is getting nicer and nicer here in the local area! Along with your back yard cook-outs the lodge has scheduled many activities for your benefit. The Family Outing is a couple weeks away. This is one of our best events of our year. Please bring your family down and enjoy the food, fun, and friendship! If you have been here recently, one can t help notice the many recent improvements. On top of our new tap system, the bar has been reworked. Thanks to Paul Gavoni for his efforts In landscaping the grounds around the 413. Our kitchen has been reorganized and renovated, including an expanded menu including pizza, potato skins, and buffalo wings, as well as, expanded hours (noon-10, M-F). Thanks to Billy Michaud, Roger Tucker, and Kathy Lally for their hard work! We have two raffles of interest currently going on. Come on down and take a chance on a high end leather jacket (member donated) and/or a book of $5.00 scratch tickets (or $500). Proceeds from both will go to our Raise the Roof fund, and will be drawn at the outing (July 18th). Among the many events planned at the lodge this summer I want to remind you that we have the ability to hold some events outside at the Braintree Moose Family Center! This is something that a Private Club can enjoy between Memorial Day and Labor Day each year. Rest assured, we are taking full advantage of this privilege. Stop on by the Lodge and see what is coming up for the month July!! Get the motorcycles & boats ready for a great summer. I look forward to seeing you, and your family, at the Lodge!!! Rehabilitation/Resting at home: Our best wishes go out to Frannie Johnson (pneumonia) and Carol Broadbent (diverticulitus) who are both doing well in their recoveries. We pray for them and all those who may be ill, recovering at home, or in recovery from illness or despair. Function Hall Rentals Planning on a special event that requires use of a function hall?
