And what a year it was!!! Thank you brothers and co-workers for believing in me and allowing me to help guide our lodge during this past year as your Governor. There were many difficult decisions to be made in order for the Lodge to remain open and successful. Some disagreed with those decisions. I can guarantee the decisions were made for the best overall interest of the Lodge in mind. When I was reading the Installation ceremony guide, I was happy to see one question that would be asked of me as the Governor leaving office. The question was, Is this Lodge in good standing with Moose International? I have never been more proud to respond, IT IS!! The Lodge is in a better place on so many levels than it was last year. Thank YOU to the members and to both of the LOOM and WOTM Boards of Officers. We have worked together and now I will move forward as Past Governor knowing our membership will continue to help us grow and support our charities. And so as my year ends, I ask you to continue that support that you gave me last year. Please continue to come to the Lodge, join in activities, sponsor someone, and please renew your dues. For it is only by your presence and support that we can continue the Mission of the Moose. I love this Lodge and know all of you do as well. Please check out the calendar and see you all at the Lodge! Hugh Deery Jr. Past Governor For All You Do!

ATTEND ALL OF OUR FAMILY EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES THANK YOU! MAY IS THE MONTH OF NEW BEGININGS AND WITH THAT BEING SAID, WE HERE AT THE MOOSE NOW BEGIN A NEW. OUR NEW OFFICERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AND WE WELCOME THEM ALL WITH OPEN ARMS. WE HAVE JUST FINISHED UP A VERY HARD YEAR AT THE LODGE BUT WE HAVE SURVIVED AND WILL CONTINUE TO SURVIVE FOR MANY DECADES TO COME. BEING MY LAST TIME WRITING THIS NEWSLETTER, I JUST WANT TO REMIND ALL OF YOU WHY WE ARE MOOSE MEMBERS. NOT BECAUSE WE WANT TO BE MEMBERS OF A BAR BUT TO BE SO MUCH MORE AND YES, THE BAR ASPECT IS A BONUS BUT SHOULD NEVER BE THE MAIN FOCUS. BEING A MEMBER OF THE MOOSE COMES WITH A HIGHER AWARENESS OF AND FOR YOUR COMMUNITY. AS WELL AS YOUR RESPECT FOR FAMILY, AND HELPING WERE YOU CAN BECAUSE YOU WANT TOO! YOU WANT TO MAKE YOUR COMMUNITY A BETTER PLACE FOR YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR PARENTS AND YOUR NEIGHBORS. WHEN WE DO THIS ALL TOGETHER, IT MAKES THE JOB A LOT EASIER. NOW THAT THE MOOSE IS COMING BACK TO ITS OWN, WE NEED ALL OF YOU TO SPREAD THE GOOD WORD ABOUT THE MOOSE. BEING A MOOSE MEMBER WAS A LIFE CHOICE I MADE NINE YEARS AGO, I PLAN ON BEING A MEMBER FOR LIFE. THE MOOSE BELIEVES IN THE SAME THINGS THAT I DO AND I WANT TO ALWAYS BE ABLE TO HELP WERE I CAN AND AS OFTEN AS I CAN. YOU ALL SHOULD BE PROUD OF BEING A MOOSE MEMBER AND SHOULD BE PROUD TO TELL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS THIS ALSO. CONTINUE TO SUPPORT YOUR LODGE AND CHAPTER AND THEY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE TO HELP YOU WHEN YOU NEED HELP OR YOUR COMMUNITY NEEDS HELP. WE ARE HERE TO HELP ONE ANOTHER. MAKE IT A POINT TO DONATE SOME OF YOUR TIME TO VOLUNTEER AT ANY ONE OF OUR EVENTS OR COME TO A LODGE MEETING TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON AT YOUR LODGE AND VISIT OTHER LODGES. Sincerely, Monique Basile Jr. Grad Regent
4 Page 4 A Message from the Administrator May 2014 Hello Brothers and Co-Workers, Well Spring is upon us and April Showers.. Well anyway our Moose fiscal year draws to a close on April 30, 2014 and with that the changing of the Board of Officers of both the Loyal Order of Moose and the Women of the Moose fraternal Lodge and Chapter. Let me congratulate both Tom O Connor and Joanne Gavoni as being elected Governor and Senior Regent to the Braintree Moose Family Center! Best of Luck in the upcoming year! I also would like to extend my thanks to both Hugh Deery and Monique Basile for the past year of leadership and service to or Lodge! Let s look forward to the coming year, the new theme for this year from Moose International is Back to Basics. The overall theme points us to some of the basic processes and principals that have worked over the past years. There will be signs up throughout the Lodge that describes some of the membership rewards for those members sponsoring new members into our fraternity. Bring down your friends, co-workers and neighbors and show them our Lodge and tell them about the membership rewards that are available to the Moose member and their families. Mention all of the support that we provide to our community and the families in need. We grow by you sponsoring new members to the fraternity and becoming a Preferred Member of your Lodge. Step up and sponsor a new member today! Our new Board of Officers will be searching out new ideas to interest the membership in the Lodge in participating, not only in our community service activities, but in attending our social activities that are held at our Lodge. If you have an idea for a new activity or venue to be held at the Lodge, please mention it to one of the members of the Board of Officers for the Men or Women and they will bring it to our Board for review and action in the future. Members of the Braintree Lodge have been attending some of the MA/RI Association sponsored events that are held throughout the year. These gatherings and sporting events are a great time to check out other Moose Lodges in the state, meet new Moose members and have some fun times throughout the year. These State Association sponsored functions that are open to ALL Moose members. These events are well orchestrated and run, and they are sure to please whether you are a participant or an on-looker, a great time is had by all. Thank you for your support through our troubled times over the past year and your participation in our Braintree events is a great way of showing your support. We hope to see you more often at the Lodge!! Fraternally, Rick Robash Administrator MOOSE OF THE MONTH Darren Ring Congratulations!

6 Page 6 May 2014 MOOSE LEGION REPORT Braintree Moose Legion Committee May, 2014 Hello My Fellow Moose Legionnaires, Thanks to those of you who took the time to come down and vote. By a narrow margin we welcome Governor Tommy O'Connor to the position of leadership. Congratulations also to Senior Regent Joanne Gavoni. We in the Moose Legion Committee look forward to working with both Boards to move our Family Center forward. Many thanks to Hugh Deery who becomes our Past Governor and our Past Chairman of the Moose Legion Committee. Two very important positions within the Lodge. Our Family Center came back to life last year thanks to the hard work of all. Our challenge this year is to bring our Moose Legion Committee back to life. We were strong in getting our Social Quarters Ceiling Tile project done but we were lacking in monthly meetings. I'm looking forward to working with my new Chairman and I'm hoping we can get a Vice Chairman as well. My thanks go out to those who have volunteered their Saturday Mornings to paint ceiling tiles and the grates. Thanks also to those who have supported our monthly events and Moose Legion Dinners. Our current fund raiser is the Duck Races. They're scheduled for Sunday, June15 at 11:30 AM. Come down for a wonderful Fathers Day Brunch then head down to the Herring Run for an afternoon of fun. We need volunteers to help us with the races. Remember, a burden heavy to one is made light by many. Ducks will be $5.00 each and may be purchased in advance. We'll also be selling Tommy Moose at $15.00 each to build our reserve towards Hospital Visits and Law Enforcement presentations. We have an aggressive agenda and we need your help through attendance at our meetings and sponsorship of new Moose Legionnaires. Our next meeting is Sunday, May 4 at 11:00 AM. Gordon Johnson Assistant Secretary Always Remember Do Some Good Thing For Someone Each Day & To have fun while providing greater service to the Moose Fraternity
