1 Denare Beach Newsletter June & July 2013 I would like to extend a big hello to everyone. My name is Laurie Stomp and I am very excited to say that I am your new Recreation Director! I have lived in Denare Beach for over twenty years and have been spent over a quarter of that time in this very position from and then again in 2010 for five months. My husband, Brent and I have two children, Tristan and Samantha. We love this community and think that it is a great place to raise children. We often describe to family and friends back home, that Denare Beach is like having a big playground in our backyard. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful community! I am very excited to get to work and start planning some events and activities for our community. I welcome you to invite your family and friends to share in the fun! Please feel free to contact me at the Recreation Office at Photo by Kari Lentowicz Tag Fishing on Amisk Lake! The Alpine Convenience has tagged 10 walleye on Amisk Lake. Catch the tagged walleye & bring in the tag to the Alpine to collect your cash or prize! There will be a total of $1000 of cash to be won. Tagged fish have been released at different locations throughout the lake. There is no cost to play but the only rule is to hold a valid Saskatchewan Fishing Licence. Open June 17 - Sept 30, 2013 Let the fishing begin and good luck!

2 2013 Main Beach Lifeguards on Duty Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm NO LIFEGUARDS ON TUESDAYS & WEDNESDAYS There may be other days that we are unable to provide lifeguards, so please watch for postings at the Main Beach. Summer Fun at the Beach Day Camps Register your kids for any or all of the great camps we are offering this summer at the Main Beach. Week 1 ~ July 2-5 Week 2 ~ July 8-12 Week 3 ~ July Week 4 ~ July Week 5 ~ July 29 - Aug 2 Week 6 ~ August 6-9 For ages 5-11 Sandcastle Concession Will be open for the summer starting June 27 Hours: 12 pm - 7 pm Open seven days a week! Phone Home of the Len Dawg! All camps are $12 per day. (drop-in is based on availability) An afternoon snack is provided but children must bring a bagged lunch with them to the program Camps run from 10 am - 4:30pm Register with our camp leaders Amber or Taylor by calling after June 24 We regret to say that there will be no swim lessons this year! 3 Beaver Lake Day Sunday, June 30 Hosted by the Denare Beach Yacht & Cattlemen Association Watch for schedule. Phone Scott at if you can volunteer or would like more information. Denare Beach Canada Day Celebration! Monday, July 1st Music by Amisk Sounds Games & events for the whole family Games, Glowstick Sales, FUN! Free Cupcakes for the first 200 people Festivities begin at 6:00 pm Fireworks at 11:45 pm All activities along with the fireworks will be held at the Main Beach Please phone if you can volunteer for this day.

4 TAEKWONDO at Denare Beach Taekwondo classes are held in the Denareplex 7:00-8:30pm Monday & Thursday evenings from September to June. This is a fun, affordable way for all ages to get fit and develop self discipline & endurance. For more info or to register, please call T. Loat at Mr. The Creighton RCMP will be handing out Subway coupons to children wearing their helmets and riding safe. The Denareplex Weight Room is now open! Memberships: Hours of Operation: 6 am - 10 pm Daily *Summer Membership $100 (June, July, August & Sept) *Annual Membership $200 *Couples Annual Membership $350 There is a $100 deposit for the Key Fob that is to be paid for at time of membership which can be obtained at the Village Office. Let s keep our children & families safe by wearing a helmet! Community Clean Up A good time was had by all the participants who enjoyed the fish burgers, hotdogs and refreshments following the clean up on May 26th. Prizes were awarded to the children that participated. Thank you to all came out to help with the Community Clean Up. You have helped to help make the Village a safer and cleaner place for everyone including those were unable to participate. Photo by Kari Lentowicz Free Gym Equipment Demonstration June 28 ~ 7:00 pm Heidi Rainville & Sam Barteski have kindly volunteered their time to give a demonstration on the gym equipment. This is a good introduction to people interested in joining the weight room!

5 Northern Gateway I personally would like to thank all of the girls who were involved this year and last in Girl Guides. I ve had an awesome two years out here as a Guide Leader, and will always hold this community close to my heart. I am also very grateful for the support that I received from the community along with the parents, family and friends that have helped out throughout the year! 7 Denare Beach Volunteer Fire Department Would you like to join a great team of volunteer firefighters and make a difference in your community at the same time? Neighbourhood Watch Protect your neighbourhood, join the Neighbourhood Watch. Talk to one of the councillors, the mayor or the Village office staff to find out more! Please leave a message at: Fire Chief, Brent Stomp or Deputy Fire Chief, Brian Rogers The Denare Beach Fire Department would like to thank everyone that brought out food and refreshments while fighting a fire in June. We sincerely appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness! ATTENTION: ATV OPERATORS PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DRIVING ATVs THROUGH THE DITCH ON MOODY DRIVE BETWEEN 10th AVENUE & FLINPORT ROAD. Driving on the roads is acceptable in this area, however, please use caution. AT- V S ARE NOT PERMITTED WITH- IN THE BASEBALL FIELD OR ANY GREEN SPACE. Did you know there is a Wellness Clinic on the third Monday of each month (unless otherwise advertised) 1:30-3:30pm New Horizons Building Health professionals do: blood sugar tests; foot care; blood pressure checks; supply other health info We are fortunate to have this service and should take full advantage of it! All seniors are welcome! Jamming & Craft Night During the summer held 7:00 pm Fridays. Call Friede at or Mary at or check New Horizons. Bring an instrument and or your voice. All adults are welcome to enjoy good company, conversation and music. CHILD HEALTH CLINICS are held at New Horizons building every month.
