1 DISTRICT 19A.BC.CANADA District website: July, 2017 THE POWER OF WE Greeting from your District Governor Lion Grace Ahoy fellow lions, lionesses and leos, One month has almost past since I was duly installed at Chicago on July 1st. There are so much new information from Lions Clubs International (LCI) that I need to input you in order for you to be well prepared to SERVE with IMPACT. I am fortunate to have a wonderful cabinet crew who are all ready to work together to accomplish our District Goals. Yes, the POWER OF WE is extremely important for us to provide more services to our communities, to nurture more quality leaders to lead our District, and to expose our Lions image to the public for more membership! WE, the super team includes you - fellow lions, lionesses, and leos! We SUPPORT EACH OTHER and will WORK TOGETHER to ACHIEVE BIGGER GOALS and make a World of Difference to our Communities! If you want to get to know our Cabinet team, go to our new website: district19a.com and explore. Kudos to our Information Technology Chairperson Lion Ann Kang s endless effort and creativity, our district website has been facelifted to suit your needs. Club officers will be provided the password next month to gain access to the security site for more information that may be helpful to your clubs. Lion Ann will also conduct training sessions to you on MYLCI, LCI and LCIF webpages effective navigating skills. Our old website: 19alions.org will still be active and is linked to IPDG Simon Yau at cabinet team section. Inside this issue: International President 2 Important Dates 3 Welcome, Congratulations, & Sympathy More events.. And Clubs Support Team 3 4 Our District is accepting donations to help those impacted by BC Wildfires. Please go to our District Website for more details on how to support. We do not know how much we would be raised but it is for sure that 100% funds collected will be donated to those in need at the affected areas. At this point, BC Government and large charity organizations are helping in massive scopes and we will carry on the mission to SERVE to our best.

2 Page 2 THE POWER OF WE NARESH AGGARWAL, INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT Dr. Naresh Aggarwal, of Batala, Punjab, India, was elected to serve as international president of Lions Clubs International at the association s 100th International Convention, held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, June 30 through July 4, He is chairman of companies specializing in steel and agricultural products. As we enter our second century, we are evolving to meet the needs of our everchanging world. We can show the world that solving our greatest problems is within reach if we work together for the common good. The Power of We Standing together in service. As individuals, we can only do so much. But when 1.4 million Lions work together, there is no limit to what we can achieve. If each of us invested just $10 each month in service or served just one more hour per week, we could truly change the world. The Power of Action Transforming hope into action. Lions are active in communities all over the world. Let s take advantage of our global presence by engaging each Lion in service early and often. We must address the urgent needs of our communities by selecting projects that convert every hour, dollar and member into service. The Power of Service Making the impossible possible. It all comes down to one thing service. Our purpose has always been to provide service to those in need. Solving our world s greatest problems is within reach if we work together. But only through service can we change lives and make the world a better place.

5 The Future is Now The time to act is now. We can and we will make a lasting impact on our communities and the world. Let us make this vision of our second century of service a reality. Lions are changing the world one community at a time, by addressing needs at home and around the globe. We are 1.4 million men and women who believe that kindness matters. And when we work together, we can achieve bigger goals. In addition to serving locally, Lions and Leos support five global service areas: vision, hunger relief, the environment, pediatric cancer and diabetes. The Global Service Framework focuses the efforts of Lions and Leos on five service areas with the goal of tripling our humanitarian impact by serving 200 million people per year by The Global Service Framework complements all of the great ways clubs serve locally, and gives Lions and Leos new opportunities to help meet the growing challenges facing humanity.
