By 2050 this number could rise as high as 16 million. Since 2000, deaths from heart disease have decreased by 14%, while deaths from Alzheimer s disease have increased by 89%. African-Americans are about twice as likely to have Alzheimer s or other dementias as Caucasians. Almost two-thirds of Americans with Alzheimer s are women. MEN S HEALTH SEMINAR TUESDAY, JUNE 12 Time: 6:00 pm Speaker: Christopher Wright, MD Did you know: ED, which is 3 times more common in men with diabetes than in men without diabetes, can be a warning sign of more serious issues. Symptoms of heart disease may develop within 2 3 years of the onset of ED. Approximately 4 in 10 men over the age of 45 may have low testosterone, which is more common in men who are obese, diabetic, have high cholesterol or high blood pressure. Nearly 1 in 10 American men has some degree of urinary incontinence that can interfere with the active life he once enjoyed.
