2 Pacific Rim Otolaryngology Update HILTON HAWAIIAN VILLAGE BEACH RESORT & SPA With improved understanding of pathophysiology and disease mechanisms and with technological advancements, the approaches to head and neck surgical disorders and head and neck surgery techniques continue to evolve at a rapid pace. The goal of this course is to provide an update in contemporary head and neck surgery and to foster educational interaction between practitioners from the Pacific Rim and beyond. A distinguished faculty will provide lectures and roundtable discussions. Ample time for questions and interaction with the faculty is planned. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own cases for discussion. TARGET AUDIENCE This course is intended for practicing otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, dermatologic surgeons, and nurses. OBJECTIVES An attendee completing this course should be able to discuss and, as appropriate, apply: Contemporary management of pediatric neck masses Current management of thyroid carcinoma New surgical approaches to the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses New management strategies for melanoma and advanced cutaneous malignancies of the head and neck Use of MRI and FDG-PET scans of the head and neck Contemporary management of oral cavity carcinoma and reconstructive techniques ACCREDITATION The University of California, School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UCSF designates this educational activity for a maximum of 22.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency. Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit TM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.
