1 NARCOTICS CONTROL BUREAU NEW DELHI DRUG SITUATION REPORT/SIGNIICANT EVENTS REPORT OR INDIA OR THE ONTH O ARCH 2014 ********** This report is based on the information received from various State and Central drug law enforcement agencies till the end of arch Significant seizures effected earlier but reported during arch 2014 are also incorporated in this report. ***********

2 SEIZURES EECTED IN THE ONTH O ARCH, 2014 On , officers of NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit jointly with Tamil Nadu Police seized kgs of PseudoEphedrine at Chennai. The drug was concealed in three Luggage bags. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit seized kg of Ganja at Lucknow Railway Station. The drug was concealed in travelling bag. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of Excise & Narcotics Department, izoram seized tablets of ethamphetamine from the possession of one yanmar National. He was arrested. The suspected destination of seized drug was yanmar. On , officers of Goa Police seized 6.3 grams of LSD at Bardez, Goa. 01 Israel National was arrested. On , officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized kg of Ganja at Nalhati Uchcha Balika Bidyalaya Para, ouzana Nalhati(B), Nalhati, Birbhum, West Bengal. The drug was concealed in a multi coloured nylon sack. 01 person was arrested. On , 143 rd Bn of BS KS Wala, erozpur, Punjab seized kg Heroin and handed over to the NCB Sub Zonal Unit Amritsar. The drug was concealed in Tyre Tube in four packets and floated in Satluj River. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On , officers of NCB, Jodhpur Zonal Unit seized kg of Hashish at Kalwar Road, Jhotwada, Jaipur. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of Goa Police seized 51 grams of DA at Bardez, Goa. 01 German National was arrested. On , officers of Customs, Bikaner, Rajasthan seized kg of Hashish from the possession of one person. He was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was Nepal. On , Officers of NCB, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit seized kg of Ephedrine, 690 grams of Amphetamine & kg (5000 Nos.) tablets of Ephedrine at andvini pole, Ahmedabad and busted illicit clandestine laboratory. 01 person was arrested. On , Officers of the Border Security orce, 163 rd Bn., Rajatal, Amritsar seized kg Heroin and handed over to the NCB Sub Zone, Amritsar for action under the NDPS Act. One packet containing the drug (Heroin) was thrown from across the fences on IndoPak International Border in side in the field. The suspected source of the drug was South West Asia.

3 On , officers of the Border Security orce, 50 th Bn., Amritsar seized kg Heroin and handed over to the NCB Sub Zone, Amritsar for action under the NDPS Act. The drug was concealed in PVC pipe (plastic), which was inserted across the fences on IndoPak International Border in side. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On , officers of the Customs, Air Intelligence Unit, umbai seized kg of Amphetamine at CSI Airport, umbai. The drug was concealed in the checked in baggage. One South Africa National was arrested. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Livingstone via Nairobi. On , officers of NCB, Indore Zonal Unit seized kg of Opium and kg Poppy Straw along with Currency of Rs.2.58 lakh at Neemach, P. The drug was recovered from a residential house. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of Uttar Pradesh Police seized 2905 kg of Ganja at irjapur. 07 persons were arrested. On , officers of NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit seized kg of Heroin at Bangalore from the office of a Courier company. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Canada. On , officers of NCB, Chandigarh Zonal Unit seized kg of Opium at Chandigarh. The drug was concealed in a Cotton Bag and further placed on the front side seat of car. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of Goa Police seized 1.3 grams of LSD from the possession of one person at Bardez, Goa. He was arrested. On , NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized kg of Pseudo Ephedrine at IGI Airport, New Delhi. 01 South African National was arrested. On , officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized tablets of Nitrazepam at NSCBI, Airport. The drug was concealed in bag containing shoes. urther, in followup operation kg capsules of Spasmo Proxymovan containing Dextropropoxyphene has also seized. The drug was concealed in polythene packets. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of Goa Police seized 0.88 grams of LSD & 14 grams of DA from the possession of one rance National. He was arrested. On , officers of Customs (Preventive), Lucknow seized 6000 bottles of Phensedyl cough syrup containing Chlorpheniramine maleate/codeine Phosphate at Parcel room, Railway Station Lucknow. The drug was recovered from the rear SLR of the Train No Dn. arakka Express on and detained in Parcel room. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Bangladesh. On , officers of NCB, Hyderabad Sub Zone and NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit seized kg of 1phenyl2propanone (P2P) at the Old

4 Safilguda, Hyderabad and busted an illicit clandestine laboratory. 04 persons were arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit seized kg of Alprazolam/Amphetamine at Bus stand Lucknow. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit seized kg of Heroin at Udumalpet, Tirupur district, Tamil Nadu. The drug was packed in double layered glassy cover and was concealed inside a black polythene cover. 05 persons were arrested. On , 163 rd Bn of BS, Khasa, Amritsar seized kg of Heroin and handed over to the NCB, Amritsar Sub Zone. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On , officers of NCB Chandigarh Zonal Unit seized kg of Hashish at Chandigarh. The drug was concealed in bags which were placed under the front seat of car. 05 persons were arrested. On , officers of NCB, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit seized kg of Hashish at Ahmedabad. The drug was kept in three packets covered and packed in three different bags and wrapped with brown color scotch tape. 03 persons were arrested. On , officers of Delhi Police seized kg of Hashish from hotel room at Delhi. 03 persons including 01 Russian National were arrested. On , officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized kg of Ganja at New Delhi. The drug was packed in small polythene packets and concealed in black polythene packets. 01 Nigerian National was arrested. On , officers of Railway Protection orce, Baroda, Gujarat seized kg of orphine, kg of Codeine and 20 grams of Heroin. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of Central Bureau of Narcotics, andsaur, P seized kg of Acetic Anhydride at andsaur. The drug was concealed in Jarican. 01 person was arrested. During the month of arch, 2014, officers of NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit along with State Police, CBN, Reserve Battalion and CRP destroy illicit opium poppy cultivation over 505 acres of land in Changlang & Lohit districts of Arunachal Pradesh. During the month of arch, 2014, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit destroy illicit opium poppy cultivation over 303 acres of land in alda district of West Bengal and illicit cannabis cultivation over 03 acres of land in 24 Parganas (N) district of West Bengal and booked 04 cases.

5 During the month of arch, 2014, officers of the Customs, PO, New Delhi intercepted four parcels containing kg of Heroin, kg of Ketamine, kg of Hashish & kg of Ganja. The suspected destinations of seized drugs were Netherland, alaysia & United Kingdom. During the month of arch, 2014, officers of Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) seized kg of Heroin, kg of Hashish & kg of Ganja in sixteen cases and arrested 24 persons including 03 Nepal Nationals. The suspected source of the seized drugs in most of these cases is Nepal. SEIZURES EECTED EARLIER BUT REPORTED IN ARCH, 2014 On , officers of Jammu & Kashmir Police intercepted one truck at Salamabad and seized 114 kg of Heroin. The drug was packed & wrapped by thick cloth in the form of a parcel and again packed in a carbon paper and further heavily taped. urther parcel was hidden secretly in the sacks containing almonds. 03 persons including 01 Pakistan National were arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. *****
