1 NARCOTICS CONTROL BUREAU NEW DELHI DRUG SITUATION REPORT/SIGNIFICANT EVENTS REPORT FOR INDIA FOR THE ONTH OF FEBRUARY 2015 ********** This report is based on the information received from various State and Central drug law enforcement agencies till the end of February Significant seizures effected earlier but reported during February 2015 are also incorporated in this report. ***********

2 SEIZURES EFFECTED IN THE ONTH OF FEBRUARY, 2015 On , officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 85 gram of Heroin along with Currency of Rs.1,79,450/ from a residential house at village Niyala Ray Para, Kshirkundi, Namajgram, Pandua, Hooghly, West Bengal. 02 persons were arrested. On , acting on information received from NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit, the officers of the NCB, umbai Zonal Unit seized 18 gram of DA. The drug was concealed in audio speakers. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of NCB, Patna Zonal Unit seized kg of Hashish at Patna. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Lucknow seized kg of Hashish. The drug was concealed in pitthu bag. On , officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit & officers of DDG (ER), Kolkata seized kg of Ganja along with Currency of Rs.2000/ from a residential house at VPO, ollasimla, Nasibpur Gram Panchayat, P.S. Singur, Hooghly, West Bengal. 01 person was arrested , officers of Customs, Air Intelligence Unit, umbai intercepted 01 alawi National at CSI Aurport, umbai and seized kg of Ephedrine. She was arrested. The drug was concealed in helmets having marking as Kamachi and kept in checkedinbaggage. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Addis Ababa. In an operation launched on to destroy illicit Opium cultivation in Latehar, Jharkhand, officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau Ranchi Sub Zone along with CRPF & Jharkhand Police have destroyed illicit opium cultivation spread over 38 acres of land. In an operation launched from to to destroy illicit Opium cultivation in Kaihlam and Sinjang villages of Thanlon Sub Division of district Churachandpur, anipur, officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau Imphal Sub Zone along with NAB, Assam Rifles have destroyed illicit opium cultivation spread over 30 acres of land. On , officers of NCB, Cochin Sub Zone apprehended 01 person at Thirvananthapuram International Airport and seized kg of Heroin. He was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia and destined to Kuwait. On , NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit in the presence of the Drug Disposal Committee disposed off kg of Pseudo Ephedrine HCl (expired) at /s icro Labs Ltd, Bangalore. On , officers of NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit apprehended 02 persons at Keetangulathur, Potheri and seized 2598 blots of LSD (31 grams) & 2 gram of Cocaine. Both were arrested. On , officers of NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit seized kg of Ganja at Paschim Boragaon, Guwahati. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of NCB, Patna Zonal Unit seized 500 gram of Heroin near Ticket Counter, Ramgarhwa Railway Station, East Champaran, Bihar. 01 persons was arrested.

3 On , officers of izoram Excise & Narcotics seized 322 gram of Heroin at Zarkawt, Aizawl. 01 yanmar national was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was yanmar. On , officers of Customs, Special Intelligence & Investigation Branch (Import), umbai intercepted 02 parcels at foreign post office, umbai and seized kg of ethaqualone. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Austalia & Congo. In an operation launched between to in Lazu & Sanliam villages under Lazu Circle of Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau Guwahati Zonal Unit along with CBN, Customs, State Administration and Local Police destroyed illicit opium cultivation spread over 44 acres of land. In an operation launched between to in Piyong, Chongkham & Wakro circles of Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh, officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau Guwahati Zonal Unit along with CBN, Customs, State Administration and Local Police destroyed illicit opium cultivation spread over acres of land. In an operation launched on in edo village, Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh, officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau Guwahati Zonal Unit along with CBN, Customs, State Administration and Local Police destroyed illicit opium cultivation spread over acres of land. On , officers of NCB, Imphal Sub Zone along with Field `G Team and 54Bn. BSF, Koirengei seized kg of Crude orphine, 300 gram of orphine powder and 01 kg Ammonium Chloride along with equipments of a laboratory at Thoubal oijing Awang Leikai Area in Thoubal District of anipur and busted 01 illicit clandestine laboratory. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit seized 160 gram of Cocaine and arrested 01 Ghana national at Teynampet, Chennai. On , officers of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Lucknow intercepted a vehicle at Lucknow and seized kg of Hashish. The drug was concealed in a special cavity made in diggy of vehicle. 01 persons was arrested. On , officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit intercepted a parcel and seized 460 gram of Heroin at the office of /s United Business Express (UBX) India Pvt. Ltd., ohammadpur, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi. The suspected destination of the seized drug was United Kingdom. In follow up operation 01 Nigerian national was arrested on On , officers of the 24th Assam Rifles, Imphal intercepted a vehicle at Imphal and seized 400 gram of Heroin & 4063 tablets of ethamphetamine along with Currency of Rs.1260/ and handed over it to NCB, Imphal Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. 01 person was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was yanmar. In an operation launched between to in Chanchal & Kaliachak in alda district of West Bengal officers of Narcotics Control Bureau Kolkata Zonal Unit along with State Excise, State Police and BL & LRO destroyed illicit opium cultivation spread over 230 acres of land and booked 09 cases. In an operation launched on in Palamu, Jharkhand, officers of Narcotics Control Bureau Ranchi Sub Zone along with Jharkhand Police destroyed illicit opium cultivation spread over 38 acres of land.

On , officers of NCB, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit seized kg of Alprazolam Tablets, 100 Tablets of odafinil, kg of White Powder, 25 bottles of Cough Syrup, 125 gram of Blue color tablets and kg of White tablets in follow up operation conducted in connection with the seizure affected on The suspected destination of the seized drug was USA & Europe. On , officers of 105 Bn. BSF, KS Wala, Ferozpur, Punjab seized kg of ethaqualone and handed over to NCB s Amritsar Sub Zone for further investigation under NDPS Act. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On , officers of NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit seized kg of Amphetamine at Central Railway Station, Chennai. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of Goa Police seized 250 blots of LSD at Arambol Pernem, Goa. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, New Delhi intercepted a vehicle at Dwarka, New Delhi and seized kg of ephedrone. The drug was concealed in 13 gunny bags and kept in between the papayas. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of Bangalore Police, Women & Narcotic Drugs Squad seized 50 gram of Ganja & 4 gram of Cocaine at K.R. Puram, Bangalore. 01 Nigerian National was arrested. On , officers of NCB, umbai Zonal Unit seized 150 gram of Heroin at /s Aramex Exp. India Pvt. Ltd, Andheri, umbai. The drug was concealed in rings of ladies purses. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Canada. On , officers of Jammu & Kashmir Police seized kg of Heroin at ankote, endhar. 02 persons were arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On , acting on information received from NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit the officers of NCB, Indore Zonal Unit seized kg of Ephedrine at Itarsi Railway Station. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit seized kg of Opium at Beltola, Guwahati. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of NCB, umbai Zonal Unit seized kg of ephedrone at ira Road, umbai. The drug was concealed in plastic silver foil bag. 04 persons were arrested. On , Officers of the NCB, umbai Zonal Unit seized 25 Kg of ephedrone Near Hotel Regency, Jiva ahale arg, Andheri (E), umbai. The drug was concealed in a travel bag. 05 persons were arrested. On & , officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized 5000 tablets of Zolpidem, tablets of psychotropic substance, kg of ephedrone, 500 gram of Ephedrine tablets, 120 tablets of Restonite and 60 tablets of Tranax1 at 03 different locations at New Delhi. 04 persons were arrested.

5 During the month of February, 2015, officers of the Customs, FPO, New Delhi intercepted 04 parcels containing 135 gram of Heroin, & 10 gram of Ketamine. The suspected destinations of seized drugs were South Africa, United Kingdom, Netherland & U.A.E. During the month of February, 2015, officers of the Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) seized kg of Hashish, kg of Ganja, 935 gram Heroin, kg of Opium and bottles of Phensedyl Cough Syrup in 17 cases and arrested 21 persons including 03 Nepal nationals & 01 Spain national. The suspected source of the seized drugs in most of these cases was Nepal. ********
