1 PHONE: (972) Janet Lynn Ziegler May 10, June 16, 2006 Mrs. Janet Lynn Ziegler, age 56, of McKinney, Texas passed away June 16, 2006, in McKinney after a two year courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born May 10, 1950, in Chicago Illinois to Edward R. and Marlene Swanson. On November 10, 1973, she married Todd A. Ziegler in South Holland, Illinois. Mrs. Ziegler was a teacher in the Allen ISD. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sororities. She is survived by her husband; sons Mark of Frisco, Texas, Timothy of Irving, Texas, and Bryan, Adam and Brendan, all of McKinney; granddaughter Katelynn Ziegler; father Edward R. Swanson; brothers Richard Swanson of Frankfort, Illinois and Robert Swanson of Beecher, Illinois; sisters Susan Puhl of McKinney, Texas, Kristine Kryzak of Huntley, Illinois and Karen Reyes of Plainfield, Illinois; grandmother Loretta Brown of Orland Park, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her mother Marlene Swanson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:30 PM, Monday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Memorials I just wanted to say that I went to grade school and high school with Janet. She was always smiling and a real go getter! I will always remember her cheering for our teams! We left a special present for you under the tree. TODD A ZIEGLER, JANUARY 3, 2007 It's been almost 3 and a half months since mom passed away and each day is a battle for me. People always say that you should and can never forget your loved ones; how true that is. I wake up everyday with her in my thoughts, never a day goes by that I don't. Things won't get any easier, especially when the holidays come around but I am comforted knowing that she isn't suffering anymore and is at peace and watching over all of us. God does have a reason for everything and some of us are led towards the path of a short life but I can always count on her looking over me and hitting me up beside the head each time i do something dumb. that is love. ADAM T ZIEGLER, OCTOBER 3, 2006 Janet was an amazing woman, she was independent, loving, smart, successful and a terrific mother. She raised 5 great kids. It is so tragic that someone like her could be taken from this world so early. God must have wanted her to be with him very much. I know she is always around us and watching her grandaughter grow. She is the brightest light i have ever known. That's no joke. You know, it's not easy being 29 and losing that women, but she knew her destiny. There is a reason. There is nothing more she loved more than her boys. That will not be forgotten. I realize now why that is. I didn't know Janet well but I knew her enough to know that her boys were her priority. I taught Brendan in the 5th grade at Reuben Johnson. He was her focus and I always admired her strength. Later when I found out she was sick I was deeply saddened but have heard over the last two years the valiant fight she fought. I know she was waiting for her grandchild to be born and for Brendan to graduate and she made it for both. The entire family has been in my prayers over the last week. Don't give up the faith!
