1 PHONE: (972) Robert "Babe" Kirkland September 14, February 25, 2009 Mr. Robert "Babe" Kirkland, age 69, of McKinney, Texas passed away on February 25, He was born on September 14, 1939, in McKinney to Lee and Clara Belle (Shirbine) Kirkland. Mr. Kirkland was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Newby of McKinney; children, Albert Kirkland, Doris Simmons, Robert Kirkland, Jr., Rhonda Holt, Stacy Newby and Mike Newby; stepmother, Louise Kirkland; grandchildren, Sarah Blanton, Andre Blanton, Joshua Fisher, Chelsea Simmons, Lauren Brooke Kirkland, Robert Kirkland III, April and Johnathan Holt, Rocky and Keegan Kelly, Thomas, Joseph, Melaina and Breanna Newby; great grandchild, Kaylen McBroom; brothers, James, Paul and Harvey; sister, Patricia Rose; and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Trevino Kirkland; brother, Benny; stepbrother, Virgil; and stepson, Richard Newby. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. I too am a cyberfriend of Bob's. The world is truly a sadder place and I will miss his help and his efforts to brighten up the world with all the photos he posted for us to enjoy. I first met Bob on a long ago BBS somewhere,and we corresponded off line occasionally as well. Music being one of the many loves we shared. STEVE DAVLANTIS, FEBRUARY 28, 2009 MY FATHER: was a very smart man he could almost build anything and loved tinkering with electronics and computers as far back as could remember and if he couldn't fix it then it just couldn't be fixed. My fondest memory of my dad that I love is Christmas I was 8. I got a Gypsy bike with a white sit and shine tassels. OH MY it was to big for me but he wasn't given up he was going to teach me to ride the bike... Finally I got. He was so proud of me you thought I won the lottery. He set outside on the porch watching me ride for days.that smile will last the rest of the life & will keep that with me close to my heart. I

3 have wonderful memory of my father and my mother. Love hearing stories about my parents how that where in their youth. I will miss them both dearly. Their together now in everlasting peace. I can't think of a nicer, more compassionate man (although I'm sure he would deny it!). He has friends from all over the United States who will sorely miss him. My deepest condolences to his entire family. Just know that Bob was loved by many more people than you can even imagine, and try to have some solace in that. 4 i know that i didn't get to know him as well as i would have liked, but one thing that i do remember about him, is that he was a very sweet and big hearted person. He was always a gentleman, always quick to share a deal he found online, and always ready to help someone solve a computer dilemma. We also all looked forward to the many pictures he posted- especially of his beloved dog. I know he struggled with his health and he is now at peace. RIP, Bob. We will miss you. 5 it. MIKE HAYES, FEBRUARY 27, 2009 I have alot of fond memorie's of Uncle Bob, he was alway's in a good mood, and I loved his laugh. He liked to fish and I remember as a kid watching him clean those fish when he got them home, and he loved the geese he had back when he still lived on Railroad St. Now he is at rest, no more pain or suffering. Uncle Bob, was loved dearly and we will all surely miss you.
