Competing on sports teams was an integral part of my youth so when I stopped playing basketball after university I became a fitness instructor to stay in shape and fill the void. In my first 13 years as an instructor I taught everything from old school high/low aerobics to kickboxing to studio cycling. When I moved to Port Moody 12 years ago, I had an opportunity to join the awesome team of instructors at the newly built Recreation Complex to teach some of my favourite workouts. A decade later I continue to lead spin classes and high intensity boot camps three times per week. In 1992 I attended my first health conference and was given a keychain that said FIT FOR LIFE. Twenty five years later I still have that same keychain and I still feel the same way. As I tell my students find something active you love and just do it. As our interests change so will our passion for different things. Don t be afraid to try a new fitness trend, you never know what you might end up loving
